Alright, so I was sitting there thinking to myself, ‘hmm, you know, this was a really solid week for Rachel, but at the end of the year, I may actually forget it’. Because often times they have their final 2 speech but I can’t remember half of what they did during the season.
So, I decided to (for as long as I can remember to) give some weekly awards so we can look back at the season and remember who did what and when. Rachel is my prime example, and I will elaborate more in my awards. So without further babbling, let’s get to them!
Player of the Week
Rachel

This was a sure bet when I was going to make my post yesterday, but then last night happened, which was not the best move for Rachel. However, even with that blowup, she still had the best week, if not for her, then the girls in general.
This week may be long forgotten by the end of the season, but she completely set the tone of the week by shifting the target to Zae from what started off as a pretty sure bet in Kelley or Amy. At first, I thought for sure that Amy was gone, but that notion started fading pretty quickly as Rachel chipped away more and more at taking out Zae while they had a chance.
This was a veteran move by a veteran player and gave the girls in the house a pretty big advantage heading into week 2. In fact, if the season does head down a path where the guys get picked off, you can look at this moment as the catalyst.
Comeback Player of the Week
Jimmy

It’s hard to have a comeback player of the week during week 1, and next week I’ll probably go from a week to week basis, but Jimmy easily went from a terrible position early in the week to a pretty nice position being in a power alliance and pulling some strings in the house. In fact, after Monday, he really turned it way down and went into Thursday in good shape. Keanu thinks they’re friends. The guys are probably going to be more focused on Rachel, while the girls are focused on Keanu and crew. If Jimmy can keep his head down, he may cruise past a few more weeks with ease.
Under the Radar of the Week
Katherine / Lauren

I originally had these two are floaters of the week, but I don’t think that’s a far title for them. While both appeared to be floaters, this was absolutely intentional as they are clearly trying to fly under the radar early. Both remained out of any and all drama. Both started forming bonds with the other players. And both have an alliance with each other that should only grow strong. Floater has too many negative feelings toward it for them to be labeled as such
Floater of the Week
Mickey

This was a hard one because there were a few solid options. Ava, Adrian, and Will were also considered, but Mickey was the one mostly from the process of elimination. Adrian was in the mix with some alliances, Ava was involved in some game talk, and Will ended up in like 7 different alliances. Mickey’s week was closer to Under the Radar than Floater, but someone had to be here.
I don’t think Mickey is going to make this list often and honestly she probably would be better in UTR, but again, had to pick someone
Worst Week
Keanu

I originally had this as ‘Loser of the Week’ but I realized that sounded like I was bashing him as a person. I’m not. Keanu seems like a cool guy, but the fact is that he had the worst week. And that’s including the guy who went home. Going home is bad, but it doesn’t mean someone had the worst week. The fact is, someone has to go home every week, and sometimes it is just your time to go. Sometimes you go because you had too good of a week the week before, and become a threat so you’re backdoored and there is nothing you can do.
That’s obviously not the case for Keanu. He started his week terribly by overplaying the game super hard, but unlike Jimmy, he never recovered. He’s still a huge target for Rachel and Jimmy, and ended up losing one of his closest allies in the game. That’s assuming you even consider Zae an ally, and that contributes to his bad week. Zae was one of the people he would have needed to rely on, and even their relationship was spotty at times.
Needless to say, Keanu had the worst week and unless they keep him as a shield, he’ll be out sooner than later.

So, what do you think of my awards? Agree? Any suggestions for categories?
