We’re back baby!! I skipped BB Canada this year so if feels like it’s been forever. We were a few days late joining the hg’s on the feeds so today is mostly guessing and piecing things together. (Hopefully correctly)
How we feel about the new live feed set up:
Not being able to rewind the feeds has thrown us our own twist to deal with this season. I don’t know how that’s gonna work out but we’ll do the best we can. I’m going to have to rework how I do things. I usually take notes in the evenings, then get up early, rewind and add the things I missed overnight. Obviously, that routine just went out the window. Leave it to BB to take us back 20 years on how the feeds function the same year they have an AI twist. (I saw where fans have already found Ainsley on TikTok. She has a pretty big following)
As for the twist, did they basically have someone take Julie’s job without telling her? I mean, won’t the AI be doing the things that Julie usually does? At least, it seems, the first thing AI threw at them has backfired so I do like that part. They announced on last nights episode Cedric (young guy, former Marine) and Chelsie (cute camo jumpsuit) wouldn’t vote or play in comps but could still be nominated. (Basically BB was punishing the players who made the correct strategic move on the premiere episodes) Why would you ever vote a 17th person into the house?
Anyway, the two losing players were suddenly not players anymore. They have nothing to offer anyone this week. It would be too easy to ignore them or worse, make them the noms for an easy week 1 decision. It seems the house has gone the other direction. Cedric and Chelsie have been given a free pass for the week.
Based on first impressions during the premiere and very little info in interviews, I do think the cast looks promising. It’s not the cast’s fault but I have to admit, the 2 premier nights really seemed to drag for me I think it was watching 16 people do individual comps over two nights and only seeing the house guests interact with each other for about thirty seconds. On a positive note, I liked all four comps being the type that anyone could win. I also thought the visuals on one of them was funny.
I’m assuming the HOH comp was the same (as far as one anyone could win) because Angela is the HOH this week. (Blonde lady in her 50’s) She was one of my preseason picks for who I hoped I may like. I figured she’d be an easy target early on based on her age but I loved how bad she wanted to be on BB. My other preseason picks based on almost nothing were Quinn because he’s a super fan, Leah because I thought she could get messy, Chelsie because I liked her camo jumpsuit and Joseph. I mean, come on, he works in a video store! (I didn’t know those still existed)
I’m glad Angela is the first HOH because I have a feeling she may have needed it. Chelsie made a couple of comments during the premiere that made me think she might annoy people. Being the first HOH is a great way for her to get in on an alliance or two the first week, when she may have been left out otherwise. We’ll never know what we missed before the feeds came on, but it seems this is a cast that started playing the game quickly. Here’s a summary of everything else I found out last night:
Matt (tall guy, dark hair) lives in the storage room. No, it’s not a twist or a punishment. He just stayed in there meeting with people for hours and hours. Angela took notice of this and is growing more paranoid about him. He’s apparently made several alliances and randomly includes people in them who arn’t in the room. He’s also telling other people about the alliances he’s in or that’s been offered to him who arn’t involved. He even told Lisa (celebrity chef) about the possibility of forming an all guy’s alliance. (Keep in mind, she isn’t in any of the alliances he’s working with)
Makensey (MJ, tall girl) talks as much as Matt and they seem to be hitting it off. She’s already talking about targeting Angela, who is the HOH and before noms have been made. She also mentioned some issues she has with Leah. (Blonde girl) Apparently, Matt Leah and MJ have some kind of final three that Matt’s already outed. It doesn’t appear Leah knows about this rivalry she has with MJ. (MJ gives me Paloma vibes, just taller ones)
Tucker (the Boston or New York guy with the facial expressions) Is openly telling people he’s laying low and doesn’t want to be included in things just yet. I’ll be curious to see how this plan works out for him. Normally, I’d think this was a horrible decision but because so many of them are kind of messy, it may be a good thing. (He does have some kind of F2 with Matt that Matt has already outed)
Angela and Joseph (video store guy) appear to have bonded quickly. I’m curious to see if this sticks or if it’s just because Angela is the HOH. Angela wants a nine person alliance and she told Brooklyn (brunette mom) she was included. They appear to be getting closer and bonding over the mom thing.
Leah talked alot too but unlike Matt or MJ, she’s being included in Angela’s group too. Angela noticed Leah was with Matt and MJ alot tho so we’ll see how it goes. So far, she seems to be included with both groups.
Another person who’s being included in everything is Quinn. (Long curly hair) Unlike Leah, he doesn’t appear to be doing too much. He’s just being included in everything without making a target out of himself.
Chelsie may be in the same spot as Quinn. She’s being included with Matt’s group but she also spent time with Angela and is with them as well. Angela told Chelsie about her suspicions of Matt so she may decide to target him. Matt has lots of facial expressions too. (I thought that was gonna be Tucker based on his intro):
Kenny (the cop) appears to be the house target. Ti’Kor, (girl with accent) Kimo (Hawaiian guy) and Lisa may be on the outside of things as well. Angela isn’t including Ti’Kor in things but said she isn’t going to target her this week. She said something about not doing other people’s work for them. I don’t know if there’s been discussion about Kenny being a cop but there wasn’t any that I heard. (Other than Cedric clocking his tattoo) It sounds like Kenny just isn’t socializing enough with everyone.
As of now, the noms seem to be some combination of Ti’Kor, Kimo and Kenny with Kenny as the target. (Unless she switches to Matt) It also sounded like there may be 4 nominations and they have to compete for safety or something. (Holy crap, please not another battle of the block)
Leah, Quinn and Chelsie are in the middle of ‘both sides’ but in a good way. Cedric is doing better than I thought he would because he’s young. Rubina and Cam are being included with Angela’s group and Matt wants to bring in Joseph and Broooklyn into his group. (They’re already included in Angela’s)
Confused yet? Don’t worry about it because you know how the first week goes. It’s all gonna change by the 2nd HOH comp. This is more just to give you an idea of who is laying low, too low, in a good spot or too messy. (Matt and MJ win the messy awards) Matt and MJ STILL talking late into the night:
I’ll be doing recaps on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays this season due to some new work and personal commitments. I won’t be able to do 5 days a week this year. I may do some additional days when Steve needs to be away but for the most part, that will be my schedule. This cast looks really promising so far and I’m excited we’re back! I hope you guys are excited for the season too. I apologize in advance for any misspelling of names the first week. I also didn’t give Makensey the MJ nickname, she did. I didn’t want y’all thinking I was assigning them nicknames when we’re barely learning the real ones! Sorry about no photo at the top of the post. It’s been almost a year so I couldn’t find or remember the place I was supposed to do it. (Some things don’t change!)
