Big Brother 26-Mels Friday Recap 8/16/24

Good morning ya’ll, It’s 6:30 a.m.and I’m still waiting for the hg’s to go to bed. I’ve finally had to give up and start writing the recap or they’ll be playing the veto before I finish. (Or at least noon today) It was an eventful night so I’m just gonna to get right into it.

We’ve got a new hoh, new alliances and a shift in the players who will be playing from the bottom for a bit. It’s part of what makes BB fun. I’ve been impressed with both Chelsie & Brooklyn because they’ve controlled the game for a month. I’m curious to see how they operate now that they’ve lost the control. I like this image since it’s a flip for positioning of these 2 pairs:

Brooklyn’s expression after she got blindsided last night. (Ya, its out of order but I couldn’t wait! She gives the best expressions):

I’ll pick up from Wednesday night but I’ll try to keep this part as brief as possible. The main thing to know is Timo (tired of typing T’kor and Kimo when they’re ALWAYS together so as a pair, they’re Timo) finally decided to flip the vote after days of debating it.

While MJ, Cedric and Rubina campaigned, Timo held one on ones themselves. It was sort of funny and it allowed them to feel out a vote flip but at what cost? Forget the shomance, this is the real duo in the house and they keep putting a spotlight on it.

Kimo wanted the flip all along. T’kor wanted to save Rubina but didn’t want to flip too soon and she was relunctant to lose Cedric. (Joseph and Quinn agreed with her about it being too soon. It probably was for them, but not for Timo) T’kor wanted to keep both Cedric and Rubina. She also wants to keep working with Chelsie, in spite of finding out about the Pentagon.

Big mouth:

T’kor found out through Quinn that Chelsie was considering evicting Rubina, even if she was on the block against MJ. (To Quinns credit, he kept shutting the idea down) Finding this out, combined with some pressure from Kimo, gave T’kor what she needed to make the move against the Collective.

I’m giving Kimo most of the credit because this move absolutely doesn’t happen without him pushing a lot on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Brooklyn and Chelsie had a chat about how they were controlling the game on Wednesday. Chelsie ran down their eviction order and said when they got to the 8, they’d all target Timo. Brooklyn said “That will be an easy two weeks” and “we’ve got this in the bag.” (This was the moment on Wednesday that I wanted this flip to happen)

Quinn and Brooklyn also talked about Quinn making a deal with Tucker but going back on it. Brooklyn told him to “bounce the check.” They were hoping they could get Tucker to throw the hoh comp. (Ya, just like they got him to NOT use the veto on himself)

By Thursday morning, T’kor said they couldn’t worry about Chelsie, Cam and Brooklyns feelings if they weren’t concerned with Timo’s feelings about wanting to keep Rubina. (She’s never felt like she had a say in Collective decisions and they didn’t. T’kor suggested they split they vote and Brooklyn said no, no discussion) Timo needed to make the move but I didn’t actually think they’d do it. I’ve been complaining for 2 weeks that Timo are all talk and no action. All it took was a bit of misplaced anger to get them going. Who knew?

T’kor said she was annoyed Cedric volunteered for the block. She was annoyed about the Pentagons existence and Chelsie not telling her about it. She was also annoyed with Quinn for not putting Leah up as the replacement nom in the first place. (They could’ve kept both Cedric and Rubina)

She said she didn’t understand why he didn’t put Leah up. (It’s because Timo planned all week to tell Quinn the things Leah was saying about him, but never did. It’s also because Quinn asked Timo their thoughts on who he should put on the block and they gave him nothing.) Like I said, misplaced anger.

By Thursday, Timo told Joseph they were going ahead with keeping Rubina over Cedric. He wasn’t happy about it but if Leah and MJ voted with them, they didn’t need his vote. (It was a get on board or get left behind situation) It’s a move Joseph would’ve needed to make eventually since he isn’t in the Pentagon. Either way, the plan was on…..if MJ won the AIA comp.

I really like Cedric but last night was some good tv! It came at his expense and that sucks but hey, it’s Big Brother. So many things had to happen this week for it to even be a possibility. I guess that’s why it made for good tv. (At least this stupid pawning yourself crap may end now)

Quinn had 3 targets going into the week, knowing he’d use his power up. (Angela, Tucker and MJ) First, Angela was safe by winning the hoh. Next, Cedric was at risk by volunteering to go up, Tucker won the veto and Quinn put up Rubina instead of Leah as a replacement. (Leah would’ve gone home over Cedric) Chelsie also had to get greedy and talk about taking out Rubina even if it was againat MJ. Quinn had told Timo about the Pentagon alliance too. That’s what got this whole thing going for Timo. If they’d have thought the Collective was a genuine alliance, they would’ve probably let Rubina go. Lastly, MJ won the AI comp. That’s a lot of things that had to happen in order for Cedric to end up sitting with Julie.

Before I get to Cedric and Julie, I need to use up some screenshots…

Tucker stretching yesterday since they thought the comp would be the wall:

MJ campaigning for votes:

Tucker beginning his morning irritated since there were ants in the coffee pot:

Leah crying because Cam told her she was argumentative:

Rubina campaigning:

Angela when Tucker won the veto. (Proud mama):

Cedric starting the AI comp:

I saw Rubina look over to check Cedric and MJ’s progress three times. As close as it was, I think she would’ve won if she hadn’t taken those few seconds to do that:

MJ’s relief after she won:

More relief:

Julie was thrilled since she finally got them to use that 1 minute to campaign before the vote. I thought it was hilarious that Brooklyn used the time to tell Rubina she was leaving. (Oopsie)

With a 6-3 vote, Cedric was evicted. T’kor voting him out:

Rubina was genuinely surprised she stayed:

For some reason, Joseph acted like he didn’t know what happened in his goodbye message to Cedric. I’m not sure why he thought that was going to work, but it was funny. (I’m enjoying Joseph and all his oddness)

I caught Cedric’s extended interview with Julie last night. Cedric seems like such a sweet guy. He got very emotional and even though I’ve only been watching him on tv for around 4 weeks, I got a bit choked up myself. (It was kind of embarassing!) Julie called him a class act and I completely agree.

As the episode ended, we heard T’kor say to Kimo “we did that.” (They sure as shit did!)

I’ve seen people online trying to give Tucker the credit. I think it’s because Tucker said all week, he knew they had the votes to keep Rubina. They didn’t and Tucker didn’t have anything to do with Rubina staying. (Maybe his connection to MJ helped a bit but that’s it)

The fallout began immediately. MJ made the rounds almost apologizing for saving herself.

T’kor told her not to apologize. She told her to be proud of the fact she’d done it.

Chelsie and Brooklyn both went into damage control mode. Their stories evolved throughout the night but their main talking point was “it’s T’kor and Kimo’s fault.”

They both gave some version of “Timo was pushing for Rubina to go” and “we only voted Rubina out because Timo said that’s where the votes were going.”

Brooklyn was actually able to get in Rubina’s head a little bit about Timo, if only temporarily. Leah, of all people, came to their rescue.

After Brooklyn said Timo were the ones actually trying to take her out, Leah said it wasn’t true. She said every conversation she’d had with Timo all week, they were trying to save Rubina.

Timo told Tucker about the Collective and the Pentagon alliances. (Well, Kimo did while I don’t think T’kor wanted him to) They explained how the vote happened and what had led up to it.

Chelsie and Brooklyn got back to work on Leah and MJ since they were now on the outside of things. (MJ and Leah may have benefited the most from this vote flip)

Brooklyn and Chelsie are telling MJ and Leah that Timo are the bad guys in the situation. Leah isn’t falling for it.

MJ is falling for it.

The hoh comp was the wall and I’m really glad. It’s not because I like the wall comp, which I do. It’s because we don’t have to listen to these people say every week “it’s going to be the wall.” Angela, Kimo and Joseph were the first 3 to fall and they’re the have nots for the week. (Angela as a have not could get messy)

T’kor outlasted both Brooklyn and Chelsie on the wall and I was happy about it. Yesterday, she walked in and overheard them saying she’d be the first to drop. (So take that!) Brooklyn also made fun of her because her arms hurt after the comp and called T’kor a grandma.

The last 3 remaining were Tucker, Quinn and Cam. I was happy when Cam fell because I wanted it to come down to Tucker vs Quinn. The feeds cut right after Cam fell and didn’t come back up until it was over. Tucker won.

Angela congratulating Tucker on the win:

From conversations, we learned Tucker offered Quinn some kind of deal that he turned down right before he fell. Quinn may have also had a bit of a temper tantrum. There was talk about Quinn refusing to shake Tucker’s hand. Tucker said it wasn’t a big deal and he understood. (Same, high stakes and all) Quinn apologized for it later anyway. (I couldn’t help but feel bad for the guy) Nothing went the way he wanted this week and he finds himself at the bottom. Yeah, I know most of it was his own doing but hey, I’m human.

Tucker’s been trying to work with Cam but finally realized Cam wasn’t on his side. He told Angela he noticed Cam wasn’t happy for him and I think he said, he didn’t shake his hand either. (These two are a perfect pair) Angela targets people when they don’t hug her and Tucker may target them when they don’t shake his hand. (Haha)

Brooklyn, Chelsie and Cam talked more about backdooring Tucker next week. Brooklyn said they can say “congratulations, you’re first in jury.” There was also the usual bitter conversations about how they’re the only ones playing the right way, they’re the only ones not floating and so on. Brooklyn said Tucker wanted to take out the competitors and be left with weak players. (Duh?) She also said he was only targeting weak players. (Don’t ask me how it can be both?) Chelsie thought Quinn would go otb with MJ and Leah as the other two noms.

Cam had a theory that Tucker and Quinn have been faking the entire thing about targeting the other one. When Brooklyn said they’d backdoor him next week, Cam said Tucker would come back in a battle back. He said they (meaning production) weren’t going to give up the great tv ratings by letting Tucker go. (Haha, It seems even the hg’s are aware Tucker’s been really good for ratings)

Brooklyn pretending everything is great, just perfect, I’m happy damn it!

Tucker went ahead and did his one on ones last night. These are the highlights:

Chelsie evolved her story from “Timo said to vote out Rubina” to “I knew Cedric was leaving, but he’s like my little brother and I wanted to give him a sympathy vote.” Tucker said it wasn’t a big deal and he would’ve done the same thing. He said he’d need a pawn and reminded her he was a pawn for her during her hoh. (Ya but he volunteered)

Cam said he voted Rubina out but he didn’t know who the other votes were. (Sure Jan) Tucker talked to Cam about needing a pawn to compete too.

Brooklyn went from “Timo made me do it” to “Timo set me up, they know I’m the closest to Rubina and wanted to mess that up.” (I don’t know why I put those last two in quotes because those weren’t actual quotes. It was a summary of what they said but this is a long one, so i’m not going back and deleting)

Tucker told Leah they could work together moving forward and she may finally feel like she has people. I can’t stress enough how lazy Brooklyn and Chelsie got with MJ and Leah. Chelsie reeled them in during her hoh week. Because she doesn’t like either of them, she’s dropped the ball. Brooklyn and Chelsie have spent more time talking shit about them than working the relationships with them.

These were great numbers for them to pick up. Ignoring them is the biggest flaw in their games so far. If they’d continued to spend time with Leah and MJ, there’s no way they would’ve voted with Timo last night. Not only that, they could’ve also been numbers when it came time to start taking hits at their own alliance. Maybe they didn’t care because it sounds like they wanted to go to the final 5 with the Pentagon.

Tucker also told Leah about Chelsie talking bad about her. I forgot to mention that above.

Tucker told Quinn he had to put him on the block. However, he said he wasn’t his target. He told Quinn he hoped he won the veto and said, if Quinn didn’t win it and Tucker did, he’d take him off the block.

They both said they were enjoying the rivalry and would like to continue it a little longer. Tucker said he didn’t want it to get back to him that Quinn told anyone he was just a pawn. (Good luck with that! Quinn tells everything.) They also hugged it out.

Angela hugged Tucker ALOT.

He told her the hoh was for both of them and so was the room. He also told her to finally relax for a while. (She won’t) He said his noms would be Quinn, Cam and Brooklyn. If Quinn comes down, he plans on putting up Chelsie.

Tucker told MJ they could finally work together. She’s been trying but he hadn’t finalized anything. As usual, MJ put her foot in her mouth. (Maybe it’s her age, but she just can’t read a room. Her mouth is always getting her in trouble) She repeated some of Brooklyn’s talking points about things being Timo’s fault. This let Tucker know Brooklyn has her hooks into MJ and probably can’t be trusted. She also shit talked Angela to Tucker. (I get it, MJ still hates Angela over Matt. Still, the entire house knows if you want to work with Tucker, Angela comes with the deal) It’s like she’s oblivious to everything going on around her.

There was also some Tucker and Joseph hugging and celebrating:

Finally, Tucker could meet with the people he actually wanted in his hoh room. It was brought up a couple days ago but the alliance with Tucker, Rubina, Kimo, T’kor and Angela is official. They call themselves the Tanks or the Fish Tanks. (Something like that)

Tucker went over his one on ones with all of them. He told them about Quinn not really being his target. He told them the noms and said he hoped he could get Brooklyn out. He also told them about telling Quinn he didn’t want it getting back to him that he’s a pawn. (Sure, tell more people but blame Quinn if it gets out)

T’kor was very quiet for most of the meeting. This was about 4:00 in the morning so she could’ve just been tired. She’s also bummed out and sad that Chelsie is throwing her under the bus. T’kor still genuinely wants to work with Chelsie.

There was some discussion among the 5 about whether or not to officially bring in Leah. It was decided they’d include her as a number, but not include her in the alliance, at least not yet.

However, they did decide to bring Joseph in as the official 6th. As they were about to grab Joseph, MJ tried to come back in the hoh room. (She does this every week. She sticks to the hoh like glue) Tucker asked her to give him a few minutes. She went out and sat to wait for a 2nd turn with Tucker.

Tucker’s also mentioned liking curly hair. Maybe this is a total coincidence tho:

They brought Joseph into the room after the five had already been in there. I’m assuming he knows he’s the 6th since he was brought in later. You know Joseph tho, he’s already named it. (It’s the 6 something but I can’t remember. Sorry, it was 5 am when I heard it)

By tomorrow, he’ll be claiming he started the alliance. (As a superfan, he should know not to name an alliance with a number in it!) Oh, Tucker also told Joseph about Quinn, the pawn plan and “it better not get back to him.”

They finally broke it up and headed for bed around the time I started writing this so it’s gonna be both long and late. Rubina decided to stay in the hoh room with Tucker. (Sure, that will convince people there isn’t a shomance)

Angela and Joseph made jokes about being in the have not room together. Joseph said they were together the first week, everything blew up, but he’s glad they’re back together again. They also said it was a great set up because Joseph, Angela and Kimo could talk game all week and no one would get suspicious.

Timo began planning ahead and T’kor wants to be able to protect Chelsie this week from the block. She didn’t like feeling as if she didn’t have a voice in the Collective alliance and she’s already feeling that way about this one too. Okay, I get the thing with the Collective because they were obviously at the bottom. She did have a say with Quinn this week but chose to keep quiet. As for Tucker, sure, he dominated the conversation but HE’S THE HOH. You can speak up and share your input but he’s gonna put up who HE thinks is the biggest targets to HIM. If you want to flat out pick who goes on the block, win the damn hoh.

T’kor made a good move but she may revert right back to the way she was playing before. She can’t just hang out with Kimo, she can’t expect people to read her mind and she can’t force people to work together just because it’s who SHE wants to put in an alliance. (I’m not saying some past players couldn’t make it happen. She just hasn’t shown that she’s a good enough player to make it happen)

The last time I checked, MJ was passed out on the couch, still waiting for her 2nd meeting with Tucker:

Here’s some random stuff before I go. The recaps probably already too long for this stuff but what the hell? I need to clear out the folder before the weekend so forgive me.

Chelsie pretended to kick Tucker in the head. Her shoe flew off tho and it actually hit him in the head. Lol

These are some Tweets I saved from last night. This one was funny:

This one summed up the Tucker confusion and why so many people like him:

This one is true:

This was funny and probably true:

Matt hanging out with Tyler from BB20:

Matt comparing muscles with the other Matt:

Rubina quote after Tuckers hoh win: “Buckle up everybody. It’s gonna be a bumpy week.”

Noms are later today and it should be Cam, Quinn and Brooklyn. I’m curious to see if Brooklyn and Chelsie can get their games back on track. They’ve been the best players in the house but this season, that’s not saying much. Have a great weekend!
