Big Brother 26-Mels Friday Recap 9/6/24

Hello everyone, who’s ready for a new BB week? Last night, Chelsie made the best move for her game, I’m not convinced MJ did and Leah’s new position in the game may be gone already. Here’s hoping for another fun week.

Before I get into Wednesday’s and Thursday’s feeds, I wanted to mention the Wednesday episode. I’m impressed with most of the episodes this season. The feeds have been entertaining and finally, the episodes have been reflecting what’s actually happened in the game. Leah really did blow up Quinn’s hoh this week in order to get her way.

I don’t know how anyone couldn’t be happy for her when she won that veto. She was so excited, cried and said “I can win things too.” Unlike Angela’s tears, it felt genuine.

I really liked this comp and also how the other hg’s could watch them doing it. This was just before Angela cracked her head climbing out:

Quinns begging…

and pleading…

didn’t stop Leah from using the veto on Angela.

Could this be a lucky shirt?

She wore it when Tucker used the veto on her too.

Do we all need one of these?

Anyway, Quinn made another big mistake (after putting Cedric up on his 1st hoh) and put up Joseph. It was a good move for Leah but would’ve been a great one if Joseph stayed. She gained 1 vote in jury but may have lost one too.

The live feeds on Wednesday were all about Kimo vs Joseph for most of the day. There was a brief time it looked like Rubina vs Joseph was in question too. Obviously, Leah and Quinn wanted Joseph to stay over both. Chelsie wanted Joseph out over both but didn’t think she could push her luck against the Kimo vote.

Chelsie and MJ had a back and forth over Rubina too. Chelsie wanted Rubina to stay regardless but MJ didn’t. Both Cam and Quinn wanted Kimo out but would settle for Rubina if Kimo won the AI comp. MJ was on the same page and told Chelsie they needed to split up the trio. (Timobina) Chelsie finally agreed with MJ but….did she really? (I was surprised because MJ’s the one who is easily swayed)

The loosely formed group of Quinn, Chelsie, MJ, Cam and Leah met in the hoh room to make the decision. Chelsie hadn’t really agreed with MJ and was able to flip MJ back to keeping Rubina too. Rubina started working on Cam earlier in the week and it paid off because Cam caved and said he’d be ok if Rubina stayed. (good work Rubina)

Rubina interrupted the convo but before she did, it looked like Kimo vs Joseph-Kimo would go. Rubina vs Joseph-Joseph would go. Quinn tried to put up a fight but he was losing.

Between campaigning, BB played 40 messages the hg’s had to remember. (for the hoh comp) Watching them study was amusing. Chelsie accidentally got stuck studying with Joseph for a bit. Leah was in the room and studied by pacing circles in the bedroom. (A lot of laps!)

Kimo was scolded by T’kor and Rubina for helping others study. He had it memorized well and so did Cam.

Angela didn’t appear to be doing as well. She was also preoccupied and talking to herself. All I heard was “I can’t believe she did that” and something else. (I don’t know who she was complaining about but she was annoyed)

There was also advice from a couple of people NOT to study with MJ. It wasn’t because she was going to be targeted. It was because she had alot of the info wrong. Kimo and MJ also anxiously waited for have nots to end. These are snack bags they accumulated and saved all week:

After MJ thought she’d successfully flipped Chelsie to do what she wanted, she was feeling pretty good. She looked into the camera and said “I’ve got this whole house wrapped around my finger.” She’s also taking credit for Tucker’s eviction. She told T’kor, if she hadn’t been the 5th vote, he would’ve stayed. (Wouldn’t that be the same for any of the five people who voted tho?)

There was more talk of the womens alliance but it’s becoming obvious, it’s just a backup plan for most of them. During one of these ‘girls alliance’ talks, Rubina found out about Tucker saying she was like a sister to him to other people. (Hahaha)

Leah apologized again to Joseph for using the veto. He said it was ok and told her she was still his #1. Leah and Quinn talked about how they can’t beat either Chelsie or T’kor at the end. (True)

Chelsie remained annoyed over the Cam/MJ situation and that was about it for Wednesday. For the record, she’s not upset with MJ. T’kor was initially but Chelsie told her MJ didn’t know how close she was to Cam or the things they’d talked about. (neither do we, they never show it) She said it wasn’t her fault. Is this the literal definition of playing footsie:

On Thursday, there was still more vote talk. T’kor went to work to make sure she could keep both of her besties. She really does wait until the last minute every week. (she’s gotten her way every week tho)

Rubina and Joseph agreed to vote to keep the other if they voted. (It was nice to finally see Rubina be able to lie!)

Leah explained the importance of keeping Joseph to Angela. Angela wasn’t happy about it and wanted Kimo to stay. She relunctantly agreed because she said she owes her game to Leah.

Even Angela and MJ talked about the vote. It’s rare for them to have a convo about anything.

Chelsie and Leah had a long talk too and Leah made a good case for why Joseph should stay. It genuinely seemed like Chelsie had been flipped back when the feeds went down.

It appeared Chelsie was going to keep Joseph. She even met with Leah and Angela and helped Leah convince Angela it was the right move.

Leah told Joseph and Quinn she’d been busy and hard at work. (Her relaxed energy cracks me up. She’s never stressed or bothered, even when the house is blowing up around her)

She said she’d flipped Chelsie to keep Joseph, even over Rubina. Joseph cried some more, hugged her and thanked her.

Quinn and T’kor finally had their talk. He apologized about the situation and said he knew she was mad at him. She told him she wasn’t and was mostly telling the truth. She’d been mad but she’d had all week to get over it. She told Rubina he was hard to stay mad at because he was such a nice guy. (She still thinks he needs to go)

T’kor telling Kimo she thought he had the votes to stay:

T’kor still thinks Quinn made the wrong decision this week. From her perspective, I get it. She feels like the trio DID have his back and they did. Unfortunately, Quinn doesn’t read minds. Their actions made it seem like they chose Tucker over him. (Rubina did and Kimo maybe did) T’kor didn’t but couldn’t tell Quinn she wanted Tucker out too. (because of Rubina and Kimo) She was only biding her time until she could get Tucker out. She wasn’t going to risk giving Quinn that info after she’s seen what a big mouth he’s got. She tried to show him by not putting Leah on the block last week, when everyone else was pushing for her to do it. (Sorrry T’kor, sometimes tou actually have to TELL people what you’re thinking)

Angela cried in the storage room because she didn’t want to vote out Kimo:

Now, for the live episode:

It was another good one. I thought if Rubina won the AI Arena, Kimo would be gone, based on the feeds. Rubina finally got her first win and like Leah’s win, it was exciting. She even yelled out her own name after winning. (Haha) I’ve never heard anyone do that but I liked it!

Tucker reacting to Rubina’s win:

This left Joseph as the only one left in the house who hadn’t won something. No biggie, that was his Dr. Will strategy, right?

I’d asked in the last recap if Joseph was lying about throwing comps since he was deluded about the rest of his game. I guess we have the answer. To make this loss even harder for him to take, this was the comp Joseph told Quinn he hoped they got to do. He said “I for sure will beat Tucker in that one.”

This shot of Angela cracked me up. It’s when they all went into the bedroom just before the vote. (She may have to go to the jury house soon to relax. Her emotions are all over the place. Lol):

The speeches were finally something raw and honest from both people on the block. Most of the cast was in tears regardless of which way they were about to vote. The voting was also kind of crazy last night. We’re used to knowing who’s going home ahead of time with very few exceptions. (The suspense has been fun!) It made sense when Angela voted out Kimo since that was the plan. When MJ voted to keep Kimo, I was lost. Cam voting out Kimo followed made sense but also didn’t since he and MJ didn’t vote the same.

After the commercial break, the voting resumed and Chelsie voted out Joseph too. The mystery was whether or not they’d planned it or if they’d both did it on their own. I could kind of see them not telling Leah or Angela but why not Cam? I didn’t see them doing that to him if it was a plan.

Unrelated to this vote but I’m gonna miss Joseph voting. He always had some short smart ass comment to Julie that I enjoyed AND he didn’t do shout outs. (I noticed the shout outs were at a minimum last night. It made me feel like their emotions were real)

Oops, I forgot a couple of things so they’ll have to be out of order. Leah’s DR about playing Quinn and Joseph was great. I won’t fault production for not including Cam in this storyline. That would be too complicated to explain to the tv viewers. (He doesn’t follow her around anymore but he’s still trying to keep her in the game)

I also enjoyed Angela’s revenge segment with Joseph. He had to eat his words and it was fun to watch on the feeds too. (Full disclosure, I wanted Joseph to stay. I thought a Joseph vs Quinn battle, for Leah and the game, would be more entertaining than listening to Kimo eat. I like Kimo but he isn’t doing alot lately)

Joseph was voted out 4-3 with Leah, Angela and Cam being his only votes to stay. Honestly, I don’t know if Joseph or Quinn was more shook up over the eviction. This is Quinn the moment he knew Joseph had been voted out:

This is him a few minutes later when Rubina was hugging him. Was he realizing in that moment, neither he nor Joseph would deserve that deep dive podcast into their games with Taran on RHAP? (If they get their interviews, it definitely won’t be “deep dives.” It will probably be more like sticking their toes in a kiddie pool.)

Kimo stayed to play another day and BB announced the AI Arena was over. We also found out superfan Joseph barely missed out on making the jury.

The feeds came back on after the episode ended for a bit before the hoh comp. This is when the lies, I mean, explanations began. MJ had a little strut to her walk, even with the heels. (I love seeing women her height wearing heels. Love the confidence!) For once, she was on the “right side” of something happening in the house so way to go MJ! She said she had to listen to her heart and it was a last minute decision. T’kor was proud of her, of course since it gave T’kor what she wanted.

Angela was a wreck because she’d voted Kimo out but he stayed. I’m gonna cut her some slack on this one. Not voting the way you wanted, only to find out it didn’t matter, had to suck. She apologized to Kimo and said she’d never vote opposite of what she wanted again. (Personally, I think she was a little too hard on herself. Remember, Kimo voted her out over Tucker and told her too)

Chelsie said her vote was a personal decision too. She said Joseph was bad for her game, she wanted Kimo to stay so that’s how she voted. She said she was surprised to find out MJ had voted that way too. (Chelsie gets the best of both worlds. She took out the right person for her game. She also gets to make it look to T’kor like she really wanted Kimo to stay)

From things MJ said on the feeds, I got the feeling she wanted to have a ‘Leah moment.’ She obviously didn’t say that but I’ve seen a pattern. MJ and Leah always try to one up the other. They do it in the game and over personal things too. (It’s why I’ve called them frenemies) Leah got called brave for using the veto and going against what the hoh wanted this week. Everyone was talking up her game.

Side note: I love images when MJ and Rubina are both in them. I’ve noticed when it’s close up, it’s hard for the camera to get both of them in the shot:

During MJ’s reasons for keeping Kimo, she repeated all the things that had been said about Leah this week. She just said them about herself and her vote. (MJ doesn’t have the patience to wait for someone else to brag on her, she’s just gonna do it herself)

Leah told Kimo she was glad he stayed and said she’d already promised her vote to Joseph. It wasn’t long and drawn out like Angela’s explanation. (She stayed fairly chill over it)

Later, she asked Quinn “are we f*cked?”

Quinn was scared…

but at least Timobina were having a great night!

The trio remains in tact:

I’d hoped for a Leah or maybe a Cam hoh. I just wanted a shift in power and even tho Leah’s people had the power last week, they lost last night in the end. Timobina got the win so I thought it would be good if they could take a hit this week.

We do have a new hoh and it’s..

Chelsie.

She’d said she didn’t want it this week and knows she’s in a good spot. It’s smarter for her to have Quinn/Leah and Timobina going after each other with her in the middle. It sounded like she tried to throw it and failed. She doesn’t want to rock the boat anymore than she has to this week. She wants to continue to stay in the middle and is doing a better job of it than most.

A summary of some of her one on one convos:

MJ would like Leah on the block and Angela as the target. She also thinks they should be good for the next 2 or 3 weeks and won’t need to win anything. (I dont know why?) T’kor would’ve liked her to target Quinn but understands why she isn’t. (Later, T’kor said she’s fine having to do it herself) Cam tried to convince Chelsie he’d choose her over both MJ and Leah but Chelsie isn’t convinced. Angela doesn’t want to go otb again, her grandkids need to see her on tv and they can’t if she’s in jury. (Thats a new one) She also thinks she should nom someone who hasn’t been otb yet….but not Leah. (That only leaves T’kor and that pitch didn’t work out for her last week either)

Chelsie plans to nominate Angela and Kimo, with Angela as the target. She knows taking out Angela won’t cause anyone to be mad at her. She’s told T’kor that Kimo is only a pawn and she’d break a tie in his favor. She feels she’s proven she wants Kimo in the house by voting to keep him.

She said she doesn’t want to put up Quinn and feels she owes him a week since he kept her safe last week. She asked T’kor to help her smooth it over with Kimo and she did. (He’s not happy about it but hopefully he won’t have to be otb and a have not again) Chelsie wants to meet with all 3 of Timobina and tell them those three are her priority. She was open about wanting to protect Cam but said he isn’t in her F4 plans. (Chelsie told MJ she hopes Cam will take out Kimo for them)

She told T’kor that Quinn was genuine about wanting to work with them. T’kor asked why? Chelaie said it was because Quinn really trusted T’kor and liked Chelsie on a personal level. Chelsie said she believes hed keep them over anyone except Leah. She also said she’d put up Leah or Quinn if the veto was used. She didn’t want to put up Leah initially since Quinn would save her with the veto. Chelsie knows there’s a risk Leah might save Angela with it. She thinks maybe she wouldn’t since Leah’s goal was only to get Angela to jury.

That’s the plan for now and I doubt it will change. Chelsie’s level headed and this should be fairly straightforward. Like Quinn, she doesn’t want Angela skating to the F2 but what she mostly wants, is a clean week and no one after her next week. I think her plan is to have other people break up Timobina for her. That way, she can get them in jury and have their votes.

Some random tidbits:

Rubina told T’kor she almost volunteered to go up as a pawn. (What is it with this season?)

Chelsie tried to tell MJ that Cam was trying to protect Leah. MJ didn’t believe it and said she’d know because she was close to Cam now.

MJ put her hair extensions on Quinn:

Did MJ borrow Leah’s dress last night? This is a shot of Leah from somewhere else wearing the same one:

Some recent quotes:

Leah: “T’kor should get a build a bear that says mmhmmm.”

Cam: “I can do girl talk. I know about tampons.”

Joseph to Quinn: “Chelsie’s the only one here as good as us.”

Rubina: ” If you’re a bitch, just own it.” Joseph: “I agree, I’ve been a dick since day one.”

Joseph: “I think people think that I controlled Angela’s HOH but that’s not true.” (No one thought that)

BB: (after Leah won the veto) “Leah, please go to the diary room.” Leah:(heading to the diary room) “They have to finally introduce me as a character on the show.”

Leah: (about Angela) ” At the root of it all, she’s a Karen.”

The nom ceremony will be later today. Part of me thinks this week could be dull since Chelsie is fairly drama free. Part of me thinks, with Angela otb again, anything could happen. I haven’t found a clip of this yet and I didn’t see it on feeds myself (so I can’t confirm its true) but…..I read Angela got mad at Leah already. If true, that didn’t take long! (Haha) Have a great weekend everyone.
