Big Brother 26-Mels Wednesday Recap 8/21/24

Good morning all, Alot of things were outed during the veto ceremony on Monday and Tuesday was more of a chill day, mixed with some campaigning. Tucker brought up all the alliances he’d found out about at the veto ceremony and Joseph was the target for some of the anger. Chelsie and Brooklyn were already angry with him because of the vote flip last week so some of that spilled out.

Tucker surprised some of them by using the veto on Quinn and replaced him with Chelsie on the block. Naturally, we missed all the initial shock and anger. When the feeds came back, there was just alot of tension and individual conversations started happening. Leah was having a 30 minute monolue about people being honest and a bunch of other nonsense. (This may be why people broke off to have one on ones. They needed to escape Leah)

Later, Chelsie said she was annoyed Leah had tried to make it all about her. It sounds like Chelsie also went off on Joseph and Brooklyn may have gone off on Angela. (Hope we see some of it)
The Visionaries, theyre not so tight anymore tho:

Quinn told people he was shocked and greatful to Tucker. He said it was the nicest things anyone had ever done for him (that’s sad if true) and said he wouldn’t go after Tucker if he won the next HOH. (Don’t worry, it’s only because he’s waiting for the AI comp to end. He wants to be able to backdoor him.) Quinn will still target Tucker and Tucker also knows it.

There was alot of Collective and Pentagon talk. Joseph admitted, or I should say bragged, about being the one to start it. (I kept wondering what was going through Angela’s mind. Don’t forget, she was finding out the ‘fake alliance’ she’d rejected was actually real!) Brooklyn found out Joseph was pissed because Brooklyn wasn’t an initial member of it and wanted to know who invited her. (He spent a week asking everyone this a while back)

Brooklyn used this as ammo for her campaign to stay. She went around telling everyone she wasn’t at the head of any alliance. She said apparently, she wasn’t even supposed to be in it. Her spiel was alot of “I’m playing an honest game” and “I’m on the block for telling the truth.” (Nah girl, that’s not why)

Throughout all of Brooklyns campaigning and her honest gaming, she continued to deny the Pentagon ever existed. (Cam and Chelsie are denying too) I guess I finally got my answer as to why Timo never called Chelsie out on it. (Maybe they did and she denied it)
Pretty shot of T’kor:

We listened to a lot of people talk to alot of people while rehashing the same lines. Brooklyn was alreay mad but she was really mad when Chelsie went on the block. I think she and Chelsie assumed Quinn would go this week, they’d win the hoh and be back in power. (problem solved) I liked some of her camera talking because she was so pissed off. She had a whole rant about calling people spineless snakes and said she’d say it in her speech. She immediately rethought this and said “I need the spineless snakes to vote for me to stay so I may have to wait to say this.”

Brooklyn’s claiming Timo and others are “a bunch of floaters.” She thinks she and Chelsie are the “only ones playing the game the right way.” She also likes to talk about who can and can’t win comps. She makes herself sound like a comp threat when she hasn’t won anything. She says Angela can’t win anything when she’s won two hoh’s. (It’s the usual bitterness when you think you’re running shit but find yourself on the block) The funniest one to me is the floater insult. Timo blindsided her last week and blew up her alliance but they’re the floaters?

When Brooklyn spoke with Tucker, he didn’t let things she said go the way others did. He said he knew she was the one who trashed his clothes but let Quinn take the blame. (True) She denied it which was dumb since she’s already told Chelsie about it. She talked about how much she loved Rubina and Tucker said she could’ve voted for her to stay. Brooklyn said she couldn’t because she was loyal to her alliance. Tucker told her that Chelsie gave Cedric a sympathy vote and she could’ve done the same. (No, Chelsie thought Cedric was staying but she convinced Tucker that’s why she voted for him. Haha)

He also brought up they way Brooklyn had ignored Angela for weeks but suddenly wanted to talk to her. He shut her down when she tried to trash Timo to him too. The talk didn’t go well for Tucker either. Brooklyn argued every point Tucker tried to make too. She wasnt in the mood to be scolded by Tucker. (I think it was a draw and they were both hypocrites)

I think being a hypocrite in the big brother game is completely fine. You don’t want people doing the things you’re doing. That’s what gives you the best chance to win the game.

Cam said being on the block was a different feeling. (If he says so because nothing seems to have changed for him) He’s still almost nonexistent in game chats and even on the feeds.
He had snacks so I think he was fine:

We didn’t see how Chelsie reacted initially to going up but she’s handling it way better than Brooklyn. She’s spoken with everyone, making them all feel like she wants to work with them and is saying she’s still cool with Tucker. (She’s lying but she’s doing a good job)

I said at the start of the week, I was curious to see how Brooklyn and Chelsie played from the bottom. So far, it seems, Chelsie-pretty well and Brooklyn-not so much.

Quinn had made a final 2 with Brooklyn and that was also outed after the veto ceremony. Tucker had told Quinn that Brooklyn admitted it to him. (She didn’t. She just told Tucker that Quinn has said he was a pawn) Quinn told Joseph about it and Joseph told Tucker. Quinn’s put this together since he only told Joseph. (You’d think Quinn would’ve learned to shut up after having his game blown up but I guess not)

MJ and Leah were finding out all kinds of new info. They were hearing about alliances they never knew existed and why people were targeted and/or evicted. MJ was realizing Brooklyn and Chelsie were never with her, sort of….
MJ thinking she’s pieced it together only to be wrong almost all the time:

I can’t explain the way MJ sees the game because she makes absolutely no sense. She thinks she was the target over Cedric and that she would’ve gone home if she hadn’t won the AI Arena. (Probably) She thinks Brooklyn told her she didn’t need to use America’s veto because she was setting her up. (Not true) This part was pretty logical thinking on MJ’s part.

Here’s where it starts to go a bit off the rails. She thinks she’s the biggest target in the house except for Tucker. (Not true) She said she and Tucker have been close since week 2 because of both being comp threats. (Not true) She told Rubina she thought people would put her on the block with Tucker since they’re the closest to each other. She said they’re seen as a duo. (Yes, she said this to Rubina and also not true) It actually hurts my brain listening to her talk game.

People have caught on that MJ lives in the hoh room every week. She was Chelsie’s new BFF when she won it, did the same with Cedric and now Tucker. I’m not saying it’s a bad strategy, but only if you can get away with it. (She isn’t)

Leah is a bit different. I think she’s fairly observant at times. Other times, she walks around like she doesn’t know she’s in the BB house. After finding out from Tucker that Chelsie was talking bad about her, she’s kept her distance from her. She meets up with MJ occasionally to share info and compete with each other. (Like I said the other day, I enjoy the two of them being frenemies)
Leah being Leah:

They say the usual “we’ve got each others back” bullshit and neither of them mean it. Their constantly trying to one up the other one. It’s a lot of who knew what first, who’s a bigger target of the 2 of them, who’s closer to Tucker and it never ends. They talk over each other and both of them can talk for 30 minutes without taking a breath. (At least it feels that way!)

Leah icks one thing and obsesses over it. Remember when she went around having one on one convos about how Cedric had said something bad about her? (It’s when Kenney was still there) It went on for days! She moved on to “Cam is giving me the ick and he won’t stop following me.” That transitioned into her saying the same things about Quinn. That was followed by “why won’t Cam talk to me? He’s ignoring me.” She made the rounds this week saying “Chelsie’s talking bad about me. I’ve heard her through the walls.” (I don’t know if she’s heard anything through the wall or not but I do know Tucker filled her in)

Both MJ and Leah having been monitoring Rubinas sleep schedule. They’ve been keeping track of how long she stays in the HOH room and what time she comes to bed. Yesterday, Rubina had finally had enough of it. When Leah asked her something about how she slept yesterday morning, Rubina said she was tired of people worrying about her sleep.

She said she was 35 years old and would go to bed when she wanted. I don’t agree with the opinion that MJ and Leah are flirting with Tucker because Tucker said Rubina is like his sister. (He has been telling people that to try and keep a target off them as a showmance)

Both of them know better and besides, if Rubina is like a sister to him, why are they so worried about where she’s sleeping? If they’re doing it for game reasons, I can respect it. I’m just not convinced that’s the reason.

Joseph keeps teetering on the edge of playing a good game and having everyone target him. One day, I’m convinced he’s doing well. The next, people talk about not trusting him again. I think he gives off sketchy vibes naturally but he doesn’t help his situation either. He wants to tell everyone that he started the Collective and take credit for other things too. He tells people like Quinn and Tucker how well he thinks he’s doing in the game. (Does this cast have the biggest mouths of any prior season?)

He went on a whole rant to several people about how he wasn’t playing the game scared. (It’s because either Brooklyn or Chelsie said he was) Why not just let stuff like this go? Haha

I don’t care. Joseph still makes me laugh. Maybe he’s right and he IS like Dan and Dr. Will after all. Remember when Dr. Will said “half man, half amazing?” Well, Joseph is half good strategy and half delusional! (Not the same? Ya, I know)

Timo and Rubina have been a little worried about the time Tucker’s spending with Leah and MJ. They’ll make a comment about how they know he needs to do it for his game. Right after that, they’ll be pissed off over it anyway.

In their defense, MJ and Leah have become a bit obsessed over hanging out with Tucker and he DOES need to do it for his game. He knows the first time he doesn’t win a comp, he’ll be on the block. He’s going to need people to vote his way.

It’s been ridiculous watching Rubina and Kimo be jealous of the time Tucker spent with them while claiming they aren’t at all jealous. (They are) T’kor doesn’t like it but she isn’t jealous.

She only wants to use Tucker for a bit of protection temporarily. She’d be happy if he was the next one to go or at least soon. Timo and Rubina are also suspicious of Tucker and Joseph having a final 2. (They do) Rubina told Kimo she plans to be up front and ask him about it. (Who thinks she’s going to get an honest answer?)

Tucker told Rubina he’d like to have some cuddle time since his time in the hoh room is almost over. (Hey, when you have your own cult, people want to be around you so it’s hard to get any alone time) Leah an MJ have stuck to him like glue. He had to listen to both of them compete for his attention yesterday until he fell asleep. They both just kept on talking and talking and talking while he slept. (Or he wasn’t sleeping and was only pretending. I don’t know)

MJ went on for a long time about how God had helped her figure out what was going on in the house. She said she’d been praying and that’s how she’d won her two comps. Leah pointed out that Chelsie and Brooklyn may have been using the faith connection to manipulate her. MJ said she already knew but she says that about everything.
Leah listening to how MJ and God have a F2:

Okay, here’s the thing that confuses me about this one. Do you think God really cares who wins big brother this year? Here’s another dilemma: How can God help Chelsie, Brooklyn and MJ all win the game when there can only be one winner? (I’ll just leave all that alone, I guess. Its the safe choice.)

Leah was still talking about how people were talking bad about her. She keeps telling everyone she doesn’t like it when people bring personal things into the game. She doesn’t like it when people talk crap about each other behind their backs. She’s also been telling everyone how she’d never play that kind of game and isn’t that kind of person. She’s telling this to the same people she talked to when she said both Cam and Quinn were stalking her and giving her the creeps. (I love the casting this year. They’re all nuts!)

Tucker and Rubina gave up on trying to get any alone time in the hoh room. They hung out in a hammock instead. Tucker was sneaking to hold her hand but when anyone approached them, he would remove it.
Comp threat talking to the cameras:

With Tucker momentarily occupied, MJ began what I can only call campaigning. I’m not sure why since she isn’t on the block. She was working on trying to make some alliances, (no success) telling everyone she’s a lone wolf and for some reason, she’s started telling people she’s a huge comp threat. (I have no idea?)

Quinn talked to Leah about things people told him that she’d said. (It was about how she didn’t like him, couldn’t stand to be around him, he gave her the creeps, etc.) He doesn’t know the specifics of the thing she was saying. He was just hearing that Leah didn’t like him. She denied it all, said they were fine and Quinn said he didn’t believe other people anyway. (Good grief!)

Rubina made some watermelon drinks for everyone. It’s not the first time she’s used those bartending skills to try and get on everyone’s good side. Apparently MJ was in the DR during the drink making and Rubina didn’t make her one. Brooklyn said MJ doesn’t like watermelon.

She may not like watermelon but from look on her face she definitely didn’t like not having one either. Damn people, make the girl a drink. Let her decide if she wants it or not.

Joseph told Tucker that he thought Timo wouldn’t stay loyal to him. He said he could see them wanting to take Tucker out soon. (They dont teuat Jpseph either) Tucker told Joseph that Rubina was suspicious of their final 2. (Yep and she’s gonna ask you about it again too)

Quinn talked to the cams a bit about how they’d have to try and take out Tucker during the double eviction. He said he could tell Joseph had gotten closer to Tucker. He said it was another reason Tucker needed to go. He thinks he’ll be able to pull Joseph back in once Tuckers out.

T’kor took one for the team and hung out with MJ while Kimo and Rubina talked a little game. Well, it was a lot of fangirling over Tucker mixed with some game talk.

MJ stayed up super late hanging out with all three of them. Maybe it was a coincidence but I think she was trying to make sure Rubina didn’t go up to the hoh room.

Rubina waited her out and made her way upstairs to Tucker. They finally got their cuddle time. I’m sure she’ll be asked about it today.

Timo checked in with each other. They’ve actually spent a little time apart this week which has probably been good for their games. I don’t know if it’s something they’re doing intentionally but they better keep it up. I think it’s mostly because Kimo’s a have not. He hasn’t felt very well or felt like doing as much socializing.

They agreed they shouldn’t have one on one’s as a duo today like they did last week. They said they thought it’d make look suspicious. (Ya think?) They talked about the vote this week and who would go home. They know Tucker wants to keep Cam but they don’t. They also don’t want to blow up another alliance, especially since this one just formed. (6th Avenue) It sounds as if they’ll vote Brooklyn out over Cam. It also sounds like they won’t vote Chelsie out over Cam, no matter whay Tucker wants.

I’ve been a bit hard on T’kor for her undying loyalty to Chelsie. I still think it could be her downfall in the game but I can kind of see why. Chelsie is good, I mean really good at making people think she’s with them. Know it all Tucker has the entire game figured out and he thinks Brooklyn is a bigger threat. Even he felt good about the conversation he had with her. I do think it’s better for T’kor’s game if Brooklyn leaves, but I think it would be better for Tuckers game if Chelsie was his target. (Actually, he should’ve left Quinn as his target but oh well)

I’m assuming we’ll have a lot more campaigning today. Like I said, people feel pretty good about Chelsie. (Leah doesn’t and maybe Joseph but thats about it) She should only be in danger if everyone is willing to give Tucker what he wants this week. If Timo can get enough people to go against him, Chelsie should stay, no matter who she’s up against.

Brooklyn’s campaigning yesterday consisted of repeating the same thing she said on Monday. Unless she came up with some new material overnight, I’m assuming it will be more of the same.
Angela and Brooklyn having a rare convo:

Cam will probably play more bumper pool and continue to say almost nothing about the game.
I’m curious to see if MJ will continue to campaign even though she’s not on the block. Hopefully, she’s using this week as practice for when she IS on the block again. She definitely needs the practice because going around telling everyone she’s the biggest comp threat in the house besides Tucker is probably not the way to go.
I enjoyed MJ’s conversation with Joseph the most. When she told him she was a huge comp threat, he told her “no, there are way bigger threats than you.” Haha
Here’s some of my random tidbits:
Kimo’s reaction after seeing Tucker put his entire fist in his mouth:

Apparently Cam didn’t realize 6 people played in the veto until this week.

T’kor has suggested to Rubina that she spent less time with Tucker. I’m not saying it’s bad advice. I’m just wondering if she’s going to take it herself regarding Kimo.
Brooklyn feeding Rubina a bunch of bullshit right after last week’s eviction:

Rubina calling Brooklyn a liar right after she left the room:

Angela learning to twerk:

Angela smiling as she watched Tucker and Rubina flirt yesterday. Was she happy for them or was she thinking of ways to get Rubina evicted?

About half the cast napping in the afternoon. (Being this bad at the game is probably exhausting):

Before we have a whole new week, these are shots of last week’s eviction. It was such a good episode.
Brooklyn and Chelsie shutting the door in Leah’s face:

Quinn’s reaction to finding out Timo had left him out after he’d made them his priority:

Are Matt and Matt starting a podcast:

Let’s watch to see if Timo decides to start planting any seeds about evicting Cam. They better be careful if they do because trying to go against the HOH two weeks in a row might not work out too well for them. Personally, I’d rather see Cam leave this week. The only thing he’s really contributed to the season so far is saying Brooklyn looked like Michael Jackson. Cam’s definitely the reason I’ve seen so many funny Michael Jackson/Brooklyn memes on Twitter.

Have a great Wednesday!
