Big Brother 26- Mels Wednesday Recap 9/4/24

Good morning BBJunkies, I’m still fighting the swollen eye so this one is posting late too. It’s going down, just not fast enough! It’s long so I won’t mess around with the chit chat today. Here’s what happened on Monday and Tuesday…

When I wrapped up on Monday, we were waiting for the veto ceremony. You could tell Leah wanted to use the veto but I thought Quinn had convinced her she shouldn’t. I was surprised when feeds came back and she’d used it on Angela. (Has a hg ever had the veto used on them twice? I don’t think so but correct me if I’m forgetting something)

Leah wearing Quinns glasses:

This was another example of a very chaotic season. The vetos been used 7 out of 7 times. (8 out of 8 if you count MJ using her power veto) Everyone in the house except 2 people (Joseph and Rubina) have won a comp if you count Kimo and MJ winning AI Arena. All but 2 people (Leah and T’kor) have been nominated too. Add to that the vote flips, no unanimous votes and having 3 noms until it’s time to vote, it’s been an active first half of the season. For a house full of bad or so so players, that’s pretty good for us!

Leah held court in the backyard after the veto ceremony. She accepted praise from many for her bravery and “playing her own game.” There was a bit more respect put on her name for the rest of the day and probably moving forward. This could have gone badly for Leah but she had a couple of things going in her favor. First, Joseph spent the weekend making a huge target out of himself. No one was upaet he went on the block. Second, Quinn and Joseph will forgive Leah of anything. This was a win win for her. (She just needs Joseph to stay for a total win)

Quinn was shocked because he’d stayed up all night talking Leah out of using the veto. Joseph was shocked Quinn put him up and Leah pretended to be shocked over Joseph being Quinns choice.

She talked to Joseph and said she didn’t know Joseph was the one who’d go up. She fake cried and had Joseph telling her he could never be mad at her. (mission half accomished)

Quinn took a few minutes longer to move past it. Leah did the apology thing, said she was sorry and said she thought Quinn was going to use the Skittles to decide who went up. (This was the first plan he’d told Leah. The idea of drawing different colored Skittles was only meant to get someone to volunteer)

Quinn called her on it and said he’d told her that Joseph would be the renom. First, she told him she didn’t remember. After Quinn said he already told Joseph that Leah knew, she switched it to “I didn’t think you’d really do it.” After a little more fake apologizing, some joking around and weird sound effects, all was back to normal. Leah was forgiven.

Joseph was a mess and also terrified. After some time alone, he made the rounds MJ style saying “I’m a lone wolf.”

The best convo was with Angela. (Over the weekend, he’d been harsh when telling her to just be greatful for how long she’d got to stay) He laughed and said the irony of the situation wasn’t lost on him. He also said he was going to have to take the advice he’d given her. She said it was okay and they were all good. (This is Angela tho and she can’t leave shit alone)

Later, they talked again. She said the only thing that bothered her about their weekend convo was when he said there was no chance Leah would use the veto on her. (Who cares at this point?) She also brought up something else he’d said to her. He told her he’d never forgive anyone who put him on the block, they’d be dead to him and said they would be the next to “get it.”

Angela reminded him he’d said it and wanted to know if he’d meant it. (She wanted to know where he stood with Quinn) He looked panicked for a second, said he did feel different about Quinn now and asked her to please not repeat that to anyone. (It took about 4 hours for Angela to start telling people what Joseph had said)

Quinn told Rubina he doesn’t want her to leave. He also told her Kimo had become the target if Joseph wins AI but asked her not to say anything. (So far, she hasn’t that I know of) He explained that he had to put Joseph up since he was the other person who voted to keep Tucker. (Terrible game play)

The feeds went down for a Labor Day party. When they came back, MJ said she was tipsy and half the house was using baby talk. (It’s as annoying as listening to Kimo eat) At least Kimo and MJ got a break from have nots and were able to eat at the party too.

Rubina and Joseph campaigned to some people but Kimo didn’t do as much. (His lack of energy has alot to do with being a have not)

Cam talked to Quinn about the plan for the week. (Keeping both Joseph and Rubina depending who wins AI) This shows you how bad Quinns hoh week went. Rubina was his original target and he never wanted Joseph or Kimo out.

Quinn brought up the new alliance again he was trying to form to Cam. (Quinn, Cam, Chelsie, MJ, T’kor and maybe Leah) For the first time, he left out Joseph. They also both talked about how much they trust Leah and want to work with her.

Chelsie pouted at Cam for a while Monday evening:

Leah talked to Joseph again to apologize. She was mostly throwing Quinn under the bus.

Leah told him not to worry and Joseph said he needed her to help him out this week. She said “don’t worry, people liaten to me.” Joseph asked “who?” Leah said “I don’t want to throw out any names.” (Haha) Later, Joseph said to himself something like “my 2 closest allies and they can’t even get their story straight.”

Rubina and T’kor have been talking about a women’s alliance recently. They said they’d still want to protect Kimo tho. (MJ was trying to get it going last week too) I haven’t mentioned it because there’s been talk off and on all season. It seemed like it wasn’t going to happen anyway. MJ wanted it last week when she was on the block. T’kor and Rubina didn’t since MJ was the target. (Rubina did talk about it alot earlier in the season) Now, MJ thinks Rubina only wants it since she’s on the block.

I also hadn’t mentioned it because it takes T’kor, Kimo and Rubina forever to put a plan into action but they finally got to work on it yesterday. T’kor talked to Chelsie about it and she seemed receptive to it. (On the surface at least) Chelsie said she wanted Joseph to be the target anyway this week…..maybe. It sounded like Chelsie wanted Joseph out and if not him, Kimo. Almost everyone was annoyed with Joseph bragging about himself lately but Chelsie’s been the main one wanting to target him. (They both have good reads on the other. Joseph also wants Chelsie out soon)

In T’kor’s defense, she may have been slow to talk this week because she needed to decide how she’d vote herself. The first indication was a few days ago. She told Rubina, she was hurt when she found out Kimo had known about Quinns power but hadn’t told her. (I knew she wouldn’t forget that)

Obviously, she wouldn’t vote him out over this but it may have been enough to tip the scale in Rubinas favor. Kimo being a have not isn’t helping him. He’s tired and hungry while T’kor and Rubina are hanging out together all week.

The 3 of them haven’t wanted to face the possibility one of them could leave this week. T’kor finally told Rubina if it were between Rubina and Kimo, she would keep Rubina.

Rubina talked to MJ about the girls alliance but MJ wasn’t feeling it. (This image is from a different time) MJ later told Chelsie, Rubina only wants it because she’s on the block. (MJ also doesn’t like Rubina since MJ thought they were competing to be Tuckers #1)

When Chelsie and MJ talked about the vote and Chelsie wanting to keep Rubina, MJ pushed back against it and also targeting Joseph. (Cam and MJ have already said they wanted to keep Joseph) This was Chelsie’s first test to see if she had enough pull over MJ since being her new best friend. So far, she doesn’t.

By the end of their chat, MJ convinced Chelsie that Rubina was a better target. This is a bad read but they agreed “Rubina is the glue that holds the trio together.” (Chelsie could’ve also been lying and may try to change MJ’s mind today)

T’kor told Rubina her convo went well with Chelsie. However, she had to tell her that Chelsie wanted to wait and see who won the next HOH before they actually made it an alliance. Rubina said that worried her a little. (It should)

Chelsie and Rubina have never been close but Chelsie said she wouldn’t mind having all women at the end. Personally, I think it would be pretty cool if it happened but I also think the only way it happens is organically. Depending on who wins the next couple of hoh’s, maybe the targets end up being men. I just think the reasons for it would need to be something other than wanting all women at the end.

As soon as Joseph went on the block, I thought Chelsie would be the one to decided who left. It’s because I was confident Cam and MJ would follow Chelsie’s lead on it but that may not happen.

There’s also been tension between Chelsie, Cam and MJ. Chelsie’s done a decent job of hiding it so far. I’m not diving too deep into the relationship shit but here’s the summary:

Chelsie likes Cam, Cam liked Leah, Chelsie convinced Leah she should like Tucker instead, Leah got nowhere with Tucker and decided manipulating Joseph & Quinn was easier. Chelsie’s said she and Cam have talked about liking each other and seeing what happened after the show. MJ & Cam have started cuddling more and he likes to have his head rubbed. MJ likes to rub heads and Chelsie’s pissed over it. (T’kor and Rubina are also annoyed over it)

Has Cam really said all this to Chelsie? I guess so but who knows? We haven’t seen these talks on the feeds between Cam and Chelsie. Maybe she’s completely truthful and Cam is being insensitive. Maybe he’s said things that Chelsie’s taken the wrong way. Maybe she’s making it up to steer other people away from Cam. (I have no idea) Chelsie’s still team Cam as far as the game but there’s definitely tension.

Yesterday was slower with everyone sitting around playing word games and napping. They played with the big plastic Jenga they got on Monday:

Created a zombie dance:

The zombies also turned into another game:

Quinn used a bath bomb and it turned his hoh tub water green. Sorry, that just doesn’t look appealing. It looks like he’s bathing in pea soup or green meltes jello:

Joesph and MJ hung out in the hoh room last night with Quinn. Everyone did for a while but they were the last two trying to wait out the other one. (MJ often does this with the hoh) Joseph won last night so he and Quinn got to check in with each other.

Quinn said he’d talked to people and was sure they had the votes to keep him. Joseph thanked him but admitted he was still scared.

They talked about MJ and Cam and noticing the cuddling. They also talked about Leah and her game. Joseph doesn’t think she’s playing the game. He thinks she just wanted to use the veto because she had it. Quinn remindeed Joseph how smart Leah was and said he thought she was definitely playing the game. Joseph wondered if he and Quinn should fake a fight and pretend it was over Leah. (Haha)

Joseph’s been humbled this week and said he won’t throw any more comps. I’ve been wondering if he’s really throwing them. It’s only because Joseph’s delusional about the rest of his game so maybe he’s also convinced himself he would’ve won comps if he wasn’t throwing them. (Maybe, maybe not. What do ya’ll think?)

If he survives the week, I think he’ll go right back to bragging about his game. He’s explained to Quinn, he was doing it because he thought people should know his game before going to jury. (True, done the right way) Quinn said it was making him a target. Too bad Quinn can’t analyze his own bad game play.

Joaeoh said he’s taking the advice but I’m not so sure. Even with him scared over being evicted, the old Joseph’s still jumping out. He’s told Quinn by him putting Joseph otb, they’re like Dan and Memphis. (BB10) (Ummm, NO, they’re NOT) He’s said they have to watch out for Chelsie since she’s “the only one as good as us.” These are just examples of many more similar comments.

Some Random Tidbits:

I mentioned Leah and T’kor being the only ones that haven’t been on the block. That’s pretty good to be halfway through the season but this year, that’s a lot more impressive. There’s been 4 noms every week so far so it’s like surviving the block for almost an entire season.

If you remember the long speech I mentioned Monday, (the one Quinn gave Leah about her looking good in yellow, being wonderful, etc.) you may already know people are reenacting it on social media. (Same way they did with Angela’s stair speech week 1) Brooklyn got in on it and this is her dressed as Quinn:

Her dog played the part of Leah, I guess:

A quote from Joseph to Quinn and an example of how the real Joaeph isn’t gone. (Sorry, forgot to crop it):

I tan across a couple more Halloween photos from Brooklyn:

Here’s the 2nd one. Theae are great!

Leah started to rub Quinns head yesterday:

She did it for a few seconds, seemed to realize she was doing it and pulled her hand away quickly. (Did she get too relaxed or too much into character?):

Here’s T’kor modeling one of her crocheted creations. (That looks amazing!):

Ok, I used up all my saved pics so I’ll keep the quotes for Friday I suppose. (I try to be mindful of how long these recaps get even if it doesn’t seem like it) We had a few boring days after Tucker left but I think the games getting interesting again. There may or may not be a womens alliance forming halfway into the season.

The house is also sort of dividing into groups of 3 for the moment. (Well, 3 groups of 3 plus Angela) There’s the obvious one of Timobina. They really need Joseph to go this week. T’kor needs to keep this 3 in tact since I don’t think Chelsie is as loyal to her as she is to Chelsie. Chelsie told MJ she’s realized T’kor will never split from the other two. Joseph is also campaigning by saying the 3 needs to be split up. They’re playing nice with Quinn but he’ll probably be their next target. T’kor isn’t all that mad at him anymore. She just said she’s realized they can’t trust him and he’s good at comps. (At least she’ll be targeting him for good reasons now)

Chelsie, Cam and MJ are kind of a trio too. I don’t know how long Chelsie truly wants MJ around but in spite of the tension, I haven’t heard her mention MJ needing to go. MJ seems loyal to her so she should keep her around. I’ve said before, I think Chelsir’s played the best game consistently all season. I still think it’s true. We’ve seen her play from the top and the bottom and she keeps her cool in both situations.

She has T’kor protecting her with her trio and Quinn protecting her from his new one. Plus, no one’s targeting her except for Joseph. I think her big test this week will be recognizing she needs to push back on Cam and MJ. It’s better for her game if Joseph leaves this week instead of Rubina or Kimo. (It wouldn’t be that bad for her if Kimo left) I think if Rubina could stick around a bit longer, she could be a jury vote for Chelsie, as long as she isn’t against T’kor.

The last trio is Quinn, Joseph and Leah. I actually think they’re the least obvious trio. Sure, Leah’s hung out in the hoh room all week and she spent a lot of time with Joseph last week. However, Leah used a veto knowing Joseph would be the replacement and Quinn’s the one who put him on the block. The other hg’s assume they’re mad at rach other. None of them trust each other but they somehow make a good trio. They also have Angela because of Leah.

Of course, we don’t know how long it will last or how soon Angela will turn on Leah. They have her for now though and Angela said she’d vote however Leah wants this week. Saving Angela was a good move for Leah this week. (even if some of you hate it) For this week at least, I’d put Leah’s game below Chelsie’s but above T’kors. Chelsie and T’kor have been 1 and 2 for me for a while. T’kor makes more mistakes but her social game has kept her from having to pay for them….so far. (Yep, Joseph’s not the only one who can rank game play!)

I’m curious who’s gonna win out this week and get their way. Quinn’s already lost the week by not targeting bigger potential comp threats like Cam and MJ. Worse, he never should’ve put Joseph on the block. If Joseph goes home, Quinn’s lost big time. Since Chelsie’s working with Quinn, she may go ahead and keep Joseph. It’s what Cam and MJ want but she’s already told Timobina she would keep them. I’m very curious to see which direction she takes her game on Thursday.

I’m also curious to see if anything come from the women’s alliance talk. They outnumber the men and they’re halfway through the season, so if it was ever gonna happen, this would be a good situation for it. The problem is, this season, most of the women may not benefit from it. Leah has 3 guys protecting her and 2 of them making fools out of themselves over her. She’s better off where she’s at. T’kor says she wants it but she also wants Kimo. I guess it might work for her if he ends up being the one of evicted this week. For Chelsie, she has Cam and Quinn’s loyal to her too.

I’m guessing the big announcement this week will be that the AI Arena is ending. It’s been fun but i’m hoping and it’s time in my opinion. We’re about to be down to 9 hg’s.

Have a great Wednesday!
