Big Brother 27-Recap for Sunday, August 10th

Good morning, I don’t know what’s being pumped into the air vents or maybe it’s the mold on the ceiling tiles, but at week 5, these people are starting to come unglued. Tensions have started to rise and people are sick of each other. Throw in a guy wearing an egg costume, a butt-ler serving pigs in a blanket and we ‘ve got ourselves a house full of people about to lose it. This cast can’t stand each other. (Remember all the kumbaya shit from last season? This ain’t it!)

Sunday began with Zach and Rachel ending his punishment and heading in to shower. (I’m still pissed they didn’t let us watch this) After staying up all night doing whatever in the backyard, Morgan wouldn’t even let Zach shower in peace. She started in on the ‘would you choose Lauren over me’ talk for the 1000th time.

Keanu was called to make pigs in a blanket and serve them to Ava in the hoh room. She refused them since it was so early. (Agree. I’d at least need my coffee before I was forced to eat butt appetizers. Would they be considered assitizers?)

The timing was also bad for Zach to have to deal with her. He’d just spent all night talking with Rachel and even though we don’t know what was said, Zach was talking about Rachel a bit differently. He’s gone from ‘I know Rachel’s behind me going on the block’ to ‘I think I can work with Rachel.’ I don’t know if he means it but it’s what he’s saying for now.

I say it’s bad timing because Morgan spent her time away from Zach thinking maybe Rachel needed to go. She and Mickey had a recent conversation about Morgan being tired of Rachel. Morgan was wanting to go off on her and said she didn’t know if she could hold back much longer.

As fate would have it, she didn’t have to wait very long. I’ve already said Morgan’s obsessed with keeping both Vinny and Zach in the house this week. What started as a campaign to Rachel about it, turned into something else. Morgan told Rachel if she voted to keep Vinny, he agreed he wouldn’t target her. This turned into both Zach and Vinny needing to stay this week and Morgan said her usual line….to prove to Rachel both Zach and Vinny liked her, she said “they’ve both told me they want you in jury.” (That’s a compliment this season if ya didn’t know)

This set Rachel off because she’s been hearing about it for over a week and she’s tired of it. Strategically, did Rachel handle this the best possible way? No. Do I care? No. To be honest, this was my favorite moment on the feeds so far this season. I’m tired of some of this cast (mostly Morgan and Mickey) deciding as early as week 1 who they want and don’t want on their jury. They’ve openly discussed that Rachel being a previous player would make an excellent juror. (This is a cast that always says the quiet part out loud) It was bound to get back to her and since Morgan does it the most, I’m glad it was finally pointed out.

Rachel basically told Morgan if she thought she (Rachel) was going to happily go to jury to advocate for “her and her little group,” she had another thing coming. She said she will NOT be sitting in that jury house. She told Morgan she WILL be sitting in those final 2 seats. She also said she was tired of the disrespect and there was a typical Rachel line about “putting a crown on my name.” (Hey, it’s not a Rachel argument without at least a cringy line or two) However, this is one of the best arguments I’ve ever seen Rachel be in with someone. She mostly made good points and left Morgan somewhere between speechless and trying to apologize. (I guess Morgan forgot all about that “I can’t hold back much longer” thing)

Of course, Rachel should’ve handled it differently because strategically, it wasn’t very smart. Rachel isn’t known known for being a strategic player tho. I’ve mentioned that I was interested in seeing her try to play more of a social and strategic game. In the past, Rachel’s strategy has always simply been to win comps and fight with everyone. I’ve seen it mentioned a few times how it sucked that Rachel had to be brought back to play with a cast that was so bad at the game. I actually think it’s a perfect fit for her because she’s always been bad strategically too.

Anyway, in this convo/argument, Morgan brought up wondering how they would be able to split up the showmance. (This was another topic on Morgan’s loop the past couple of days) Ater Rachel finished with Morgan, she went straight to Katherine and told Katherine, “Morgan’s trying to get everyone to target the showmance.”

Katherine told Riley and said maybe she’d use the veto and try to get Morgan put on the block. Riley said no, she should wait, let him win next week and put “her f*cking ass on the block himself.”

Ava and Katherine talked about possibly using the veto anyway. Katherine said she felt frustrated because no one ever approached her to talk game until she won this comp. That may be true but Katherine doesn’t actively play the game either so what does she expect? She’s at least been trying to have conversations with Ava, Lauren and Rachel this week. She’s realized everyone sees her only as an extension of Rylie, so hopefully she’s trying to change it.

Ava’s stuck with the ‘use it or don’t use it. I don’t care,’ but if it was used, she was hoping it would be used on Zach. I knew Ava felt guilty for putting Zach on the block. I just thought it was because she liked him until last night’s episode. Apparently, before the feeds came back on the night of the hoh comp, Ava had already decided Ashley would be her third nom. We knew she didn’t like her or trust her, but didn’t know how much she wanted ro put her up. From the edit, it seemed Mickey actually had to do a little work to change Ava’s mind.

Actually, we learned several things from the episode last night. Ashley was very close to going on the block. Ava had indeed told Zach he was safe so we know why he was so pissed over being put up. It was confirmed that Ava cares more about Mickey and Will than she does Rachel in the game. I think it’s what most of us thought but didn’t know for sure.

Getting back to yesterday Rachel went to talk with Ava about Katherine using the veto. Ava’s seemed like she was itching to put Morgan on the block anyway and it looked like it might happen. Here’s where it started to fall apart… Rachel, thinks Keanu should be taken off the block. If anyone comes down, Ava wants it to be Zach. To add another hiccup, Katherine doesn’t like Zach and would never use the veto on him. She’d use it on Vinny if she used it. (None of them want that to happen)

It sort of ended with maybe we should just leave things alone and not use the veto. Katherine didn’t really want to use it anyway and just wanted Morgan to go up. While Rachel was upstairs telling Ava about her fight with Morgan, Morgan was downstairs telling Mickey about it. (Mickey was a whole other plot twist to the day) I mentioned in yesterday’s recap that Mickey switches who she wants to target several times a day. Most of the time, she wants to target her own allies.

She’d already just been telling Will, Ashley and Ava how rachel shouldn’t make final 5. That’s fine, I wouldn’t want to take her that far either, but her reasoning is where it gets a little delulu. Yesterday, she was telling Will and Ava that she wasn’t feeling this thing with Rachel anymore. Mickey said, it’s like Rachel is playing for herself and we’re just extensions of her game. (Well, yeah, isn’t that how everyone is playing the game?)

She went on to say she was getting the feeling that if it came down to Mickey and Rachel, Rachel would choose herself. She said there were so many people more deserving than Rachel to be in the final 5. (This whole thing is about Mickey pushing for Rylie to be in F5 the other night to Will and Ashley)

Mickey’s also sick of Ashley too. When Ashley tried to come into the room during this conversation, Mickey asked her to leave. She said she was trying to vent about something to Ava and Will. I think Mickey still has hohitis left over from last week. Yesterday, she told both Morgan and Will that she has 4 votes locked in this week. She said she just needs to figure out what to do with them. She said she has a lot of sway this week but Vinny and Zach haven’t came to talk to her.

Rachel and Morgan had another talk that I guess was supposed to fix things, but it didn’t. Like I said, Rachel’s not my fave by any means, but I enjoyed hearing her tell Morgan the things I’ve been yelling through my screen. When Morgan tried to blame some things on Jimmy incorrectly, Rachel stopped her and said, “Jimmy was never coming for you.” When Morgan started in on how no one talks game with her, they just talk to her about personal things, Rachel stopped that too. She told Morgan, “last week you said the exact opposite, you said people only wanted to talk game with you and no one wanted to talk about your personal life.” (True!!)

There was also some discussion with Mickey, Will and Ava about whether or not they should try to keep Keanu this week. Mickey’s worried that Keanu may not be targeting Rachel anymore. It’s also gotten back to Mickey that Keanu would target her. (She’s not going to admit it, but those are the moments she knows she screwed up her hoh)

They talked about whether or not they should try and save Zach and said he wasn’t targeting them. Ava told Mickey, Zach would be targeting her and Mickey just said they can handle that.

All three nominees campaigned to Katherine yesterday. The conversations don’t really matter because she’s not planning on using it. Katherine told Vinny she thought he would be fine even if he stayed on the block. She told Zach they didn’t have much of a working relationship and Keanu suggested she use it on Vince. Haha

Zach worked on Ashley for a long time trying to get her vote. He’s aware Jimmy told her that Zach was targeting her. (Maybe he should’ve done some damage control before he was on the block)

Morgan had a long and excruciating hammock talk with Zach. She’d noticed how long he was talking with Ashley but she had another problem. Mickey’s told Morgan about Ashley and Zach making fun of Morgan having a crush on Zach. (Yes, Mickey left out the part about her doing it too) It took her forever to spit it out, but this was what she why she wanted to talk to Zach. The feed’s cut so I didn’t get to hear Zach’s explanation. I did hear him bring up talking to Ashley tho.

To summarize the conversation, Morgan is fine with Zach knowing she thinks he’s attractive. She doesn’t want him to think she has a crush on him. She’s been told by several people he’d choose Lauren over her and wants to know if it’s true. She lied and said this came from Ashley when it really came from Keanu. From Zach’s end of the conversation, he wanted Morgan to understand he’s trying to save his ass this week. That means he needs to play nice with Rachel, and he needs to do the same with Ashley.

Zach also told Morgan something Rachel said about Mickey. He said, Rachel told him that Mickey was campaigning to get him out this week and kept mentioning how he already won 10k. Morgan ended up bringing it back around to Lauren. She told Zach she’s trying to get Lauren to jury but said it may not be looking good.

Ava, after the usual hoh high, started to come back down to reality. Rachel consoled her because she was stressed over how upset the guys were. She cried and said going on the block and having opportunities to save yourself is how the game works. Rachel said it’s the first time they’ve had to face an obstacle in the game and they weren’t taking it very well.

Zach talked to Mickey since he’s working on votes and trying to save that 10k, I’m guessing. Mickey was more interested in talking about how Rachel suddenly wants to make it to the final 3. She said it won’t happen because she only has Ashley. She also thinks Ashley voted against her hoh. (I guess she’s not convinced after all)

Ashley also talk to Rachel about the fight with Morgan. Ashley calmed Rachel down and told her she shouldn’t have done it. (True but thank you for it) They also talked about how big Mickey’s head is getting.

Keanu proposed a F2 to Rachel. He said he’d either beat a previous winner or get beat by a two time winner.

There was too much house activity to do a rundown player by player today. Some of you said you want me to continue to do them so I will but I’ll have to save it for the Wednesday recap. Actually, the Wednesday recap might be a better day for it anyway. There’s just always so much to try and cover from the weekend on Mondays.

I guess now we just wait for the veto ceremony and see what Zach plans to do. I’ve already said, Zach would be crazy to try and save it. Sure, it’s tempting because its 10k but he could easily go home this week if he doesn’t win the block buster. This house is very split on who they want to go home. If he does use it, Morgan’s definitely going on the block. If she’s on the block for the eviction, I actually think she’s the most likely person to be evicted, at least as of this moment.
A few things before I go…
Vince taking a tumble:

The rest of the tumble:

Some recent quotes:
Mickey-“Rachel came back 15 years later to play with people half her age. If she goes to jury, she better be happy about it.”

Mickey to Rachel-“You don’t have a lot of people and I don’t know how that feels.”

Morgan-“Is it even worth keeping Rachel around if she doesn’t want to go to jury?”
Ava-“No one expected me to win HOH but guess what? Now he’s an egg and he’s got a big fat ass.”

Zach after being put otb-“This is god telling me it’s finally time to play.” (I think thay was Ava but ok)
Keanu to Vince after being put on the block-“I think we’re both in a pretty good position right now.”

Keanu to Rylie-“So what are your thoughts on cutting Katherine when the time comes?”
Have a great Monday!
