Big Brother 27- Recap for Thursday, August 28th

Good morning, With Katherine’s eviction, we’re one step closer to jury, or for this cast, the “checkpoint.” There was a bit of waffling yesterday on whether to keep Kelley or Katherine early in the day. It didn’t amount to much and Morgan did most of the pushing for Kelley to stay. Mickey told Katherine that Morgan was to blame if she left. (This would have pit Katherine even more against Morgan if she’d stayed)

Morgan had a long talk with Kelley so if she stayed, Morgan probably figured it would help her game. The funniest chat from the day was Kelley and Ashley. Kelley gave Ashley some advice by saying she’d like to see Ashley do something in the game. She said she couldn’t see where Ashley was doing much. Ashley said they didn’t talk game to each other. (pointing out that she plays, she just hasn’t been playing with Kelley)

Ashley said she hadn’t won an HOH yet to weild any power but reminded Kelley she was otb week 1 and took herself off with a veto. (Basically showing Kelley she had no idea what she was talking about) The conversation wrapped up by Kelley letting Ashley know if she stayed, she’d probably have to put up Ashley and maybe Will as pawns in order to take out Rachel. (Way to campaign for votes Kelley!)

None of this mattered since Kelley won the Block buster comp anyway and didn’t need anyone’s votes to stay. We’ll never hear the end of Kelley being a comp beast now! I’m not taking away from her wins because it’s impressive, especially under pressure. However, I don’t think Kelley’s realized that every time she’s won, she’s only competed against two other people. (Just sayin’)
Here’s a funny tweet I ran across last night:

Katherine was evicted with Lauren giving her a sympathy vote. What’s with the matching outfits?

Lauren had to say good bye to another ally. I wonder if she realizes if she hadn’t used that veto on Vince last week, Vince, Rylie and Katherine would all still be there. They were so close to running the house and being a strong group. There’s also a chance Vince may not have used Katherine as a renom if she’d let him take the veto the week she won it. (You never know)

Other than asking Katherine if she knew who gave her the one vote, all Julie’s questions revolved around Rylie. I don’t think this was fair to Katherine. I guess they wanted her to gush over Rylie an hour before she finds out what’s going on with him outside the house. Weird. Granted, Katherine didn’t play the game very much, but they couldn’t ask her one question that wasn’t Rylie related? It’s as if her entire identity on the cast was reduced to being half of a showmance. Katherine has her family and friends now so she’ll be just fine.

I can’t believe they finally had an alliance to reveal to an evicted hg and they couldn’t even get the picture right! The picture of the Judges included Mickey instead of Morgan. Morgan’s done the most work to keep it going this week and she wasn’t even included. (They did that girl wrong, haha)

Mickey may be a villain this season but she’s beautiful too:

I was bummed at the clips they used for the episode. They chopped up the one with Keanu and Vince crying in the gym so much, they lost what make it funny. They also showed the interaction with Keanu and Rachel in the kitchen instead of the one in the gym. The gym talk is what changed Keanu’s entire outlook on Rachel. I don’t know why I’m surprised at this point so moving on…

When the feeds came back last night, Keanu was the new hoh. It was a quiz comp and Kelley came in 2nd. They would’ve both been safe no matter the result but boy, the same can’t be said for Rachel. This result made the difference in her being otb or not.

I mentioned it in yesterday’s recap how the gym talk with Keanu and Rachel was a turning point for Keanu. I won’t rehash it again, but here’s a quote that Keanu said to Kelley about Rachel afterwards:
“You shouldn’t betray your allies. She may not be everyone else’s but she was definitely mine. I would never have betrayed you, Vince or Rylie, so why was it okay for me to betray her?”

He said things like that, did the dishes, cleaned the shower and asked Rachel to trust him again. (I’m just trying to put you into Keanu’s headspace heading into last night) Rachel had NOT forgiven Keanu for trying to get her evicted last week, but she has to now since he’s the new hoh! Keanu also followed in Rachel’s footsteps and gave Will the hoh room to sleep in this week.

Keanu hasn’t known what’s been happening in the game all season. Nevertheless, he’s somehow made it to jury. (Kelley will too since Keanu won’t put her up this week) Is this Keanu’s turning point in the game? It’s not because he’s winning comps. It’s because he finally accepted Rachel was telling him the truth about everything. It’s also that he stopped denying that Vince isn’t on his side. (sort of) I still think that Keanu believes if he can take away Vince’s bad influences, he can get him back. Haha

Keanu became emotional when he read his letter from his mom. Later, he told Rachel he didn’t want to change who he was in order to play the game. He said he doesn’t want to start lying and he wants his honesty to work for him instead. (If keanu could only figure out being honest isn’t the same as telling everything you know to everyone in the house, he might do ok) He asked if she still would like to have their F2 and she said yes. (Neither of them really want it)

Keanu wants to target Morgan this week. In spite of both Rachel and Vince telling Keanu that Vince was the one who told Rachel that Keanu wanted her otb last week, Keanu still believes it was Morgan. Keanu told Morgan this was the reason she’s going up and she’s upset with Rachel over it. (Rachel might do a lot of things but she never threw Morgan under the bus. This is just Keanu denying the truth so he’s not made a full step into reality yet) Keanu told Rachel (talking about Vince and Morgan) that one of them was mentally weak and the other is the kryptonite to the mentally weak one.

Vince, Lauren and Ava became the new have nots. The out going ones chose the new ones, but Ava and Lauren volunteered. Since neither Kelley nor Vince had done it, they played rock paper scissors to decide. Vince lost and wasn’t very happy about it. I heard him whining about “being weak for the competitions this week.”

Keanu and Vince talked about the nominations and Keanu was pretty honest with him. (Something Vince isn’t familiar with) Keanu told him Morgan was his target and said he would probably nominate Mickey and Vince with her. He left open the possibility of it being Ava instead of Vince but I think Keanu was just trying to make the crying stop with that one. He said he wasn’t targeting Vince but he didn’t want him to use a veto on Morgan. Vince said he wouldn’t but Keanu didn’t believe him.

Vince asked about Rachel as a nom and Keanu told him he could’ve taken her out last week but didn’t. He said it didn’t make sense for him to do it this week. Vince said Rachel was a manipulator and Keanu said “she might be a manipulator but she’s on my side.” Vince also told Keanu that Rachel planned to put him up if she’d won and said she already had a speech planned. (Keanu asked Rachel about this later and she admitted it was true. I guess occasionally honesty does pay off in the BB house) Vince also suggested Ashley but again, Keanu said no. (Keanu told Ashley he isn’t putting up Rachel or Ashley. It’s his olive branch to working together since she’s close to Rachel)

Vince had what I can only describe as a childs temper tantrum, if the child knew alot of cuss words. He cried, he begged and he whined….there was lots and lots of whining. (It was one of the strangest and funniest things I’ve ever seen in 27 seasons) Keanu went over the many ways Vince has screwed him in the game and gave him some rendition of ‘it is what it is.’

Full disclosure, I think I’ve kind of still been secretly rooting for Vince, (just a little bit) even with all his whining and crying. I think it’s because I haven’t been able to tell for certain if it was strategic or not. (I also didn’t mind Andy’s rat game on BB15 because he did it well) Now before you call me crazy, I’m aware it’s gone on too long and it’s been too much even if it WAS strategic. I’ve mention that in a couple of recaps. I’ve said if he takes it too far, he’s going to have a hard time convincing a jury that it was intentional.

Well, the verdict is in and I’m convinced most of this shit isn’t strategic. It’s still possible it was in the beginning in order to get him out of his first couple of jams with people. Maybe it worked so he kept it up and now he’s kind of lost in it. Either way, it’s simply way too much! I know the BB internet’s been on fire over the Morgan and Vince stuff because he has a girlfriend. I’ve stayed out of that but here’s my two cents. I think I’d have a bigger issue watching my boyfriend have temper tantrums than I would over all the long hugs with Morgan but maybe thats just me.

As for the Morgan and Vince rumors, the other hg’s have started to see it too. Ashley, Will and Rachel talked about it last night. Rachel’s position was that it’s none of her business and thats mine too. Ashley didn’t feel the same and definitely wanted to talk about those long hugs.

Keanu told Lauren he’d like to pick her to play in the veto but he doesn’t want it used. He said he can’t ignore the way Vince has been playing the game anymore. Morgan is his target and Mickey is his back up target. I think nominating Vince really is just to keep him from using the veto, and maybe to punish him a little bit too.
This was Morgan’s reaction when Keanu said they didn’t take out Rachel before so now she’s a shield for him. (This is the look of someone realizing you can’t plan out your entire jury and your path to the final 2 with a dozen people still left in the house, even if you have M&M’s to play with)

Morgan still thinks the Judges may all be able to make it into next week if Mickey goes otb tho. (She could be right) Whether they do or not, the Judges won’t be running the courthouse this week! (and they’ve got a secret lawyer in the alliance)

Kelley and Lauren are happy they’re safe this week but arn’t happy about Keanu not targeting Rachel. The Judges arn’t happy about both Kelley and Keanu making it to jury so most of the hg’s will just have to be unhappy about alot of things this week.

This week could be fun. We already know Mickey and Morgan will throw each other under the bus. Will Morgan and Vince do it to each other too? People like Ashley, Will, Ava and Rachel will have to pretend to be torn over Mickey vs Morgan when they’re not at all.

Here’s a few silly tweets I ran across last night. Everyone says Ashley is like Wills daughter all the time:

Some people just get it:

I liked this one too:

I’m curious to see how Keanu and Rachel will try to work together (and for how long) with Kelley gunning for Rachel. I’m assuming Vince is going out to the Judge’s alliance to Keanu but we’ll have to wait and see what happens. That could backfire on him if he does it. Once Lauren and Kelley hear about it, they’ll know why Vince has been doing the things he’s been doing. Honeatly, hed look betrer in the long run if they knew. It’s better than looking like someone who cries and gets easily manipulated. Messy, messy, messy!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Mel
