Big Brother 27-Recap for Tuesday, August 5th

Good morning BB Junkies, What a crazy couple of days in the BB house! Every year, someone comments and asks what are they pumping into the air in the house and this season, I think that’s a legit question. I’m glad this cast can give us something to laugh at with all their stupidity because we’re not going to see much strategy this season. We’re in week 4 and the hoh decisions keep getting worse and worse.
Zach and Vinny talked about taking out Rachel while folding laundry:

Remember way back in week 1 when Vince nominated his final 2? Next came Jimmy and Lauren, who both took out their own allies during their hoh’s. (I bet Jimmy wishes he had that Amy vote this week, huh?) Mickey wasn’t going to let them outdo her though so here we are again with a stupid hoh.

The veto ceremony on Monday was super early too. She’d already made her replacement nom before I was done doing the recap Monday morning. Mickey was starting to open her eyes a bit about Vince the night before. Maybe she would’ve changed her mind with a little more time Monday but I doubt it. Once someone thinks they’re right, it’s hard to change their mind. It’s much easier to convince someone of something than it is to change an opinion they’ve already established.

Jimmy was told right before the ceremony he was going on the block. I think these courtesy heads up convos are stupid. If you don’t talk to them about it early enough to give them a chance to discuss it with you, why even bother? What, you think someone’s going to be grateful you told them 5 minutes in advance? Not likely.

The 3 nominees heading into the block buster on Thursday are Rylie, Kelley and Jimmy. (Rylie asked Zach what time they usually had the block buster comp and Zach had to explain it happens during the live show. Was he not there for the last 3 of them???) We may as well say its Jimmy and Kelley competing because Rylie is off the table as an option for everyone in this house. (No, I don’t know why) Is the entire cast blind to how Rylie behaves?

Are they afraid to mess with Rylie or Katherine since he goes so hard to protect her? They’re aware he yelled and cussed at Mickey, and apparently Morgan after he went on the block. Are they trying to avoid that kind of heat for themselves? They’re either all sincere about how great they think Rylie is or they’re intimidated by him. If it’s the latter, here’s a solution…vote him out on Thursday if he loses the block buster. (That’s not going to happen because apparently everyone wants to work with Rylie and Katherine now)

We can agree or disagree over Mickeys move this week but there isn’t an arguement over Mickeys (and Morgans) hohitis. It’s the worst we’ve seen in a while. Instead of listing these things in the recap during the different conversations, I’ll just give you a list of the highlights.

I’ll call these Mickey and Morgan comments ‘Things Tweedle-dumbass and Tweedle-dipshit said.’
Rachel should be greatful they’re trying to get her to jury. (What’s not to love about being stuck in jury)

Kelley didn’t deserve her birthday dinner and party. (How dare she turn 30 this week!)

Ashley should be greatful Mickey used her power to save Ashley. (Mickey was going otb too)

Ava isn’t trying to win the game, she will be happy just to go to jury. (I didn’t hear Ava confirm this)

Brendon carried Rachel when she won BB13. (He left week 4. Yes, I know, it wasn’t a fair season for other reasons but not the point)

Jimmy won’t put them otb, even after targeting him this week. (Ummm?)
Ashley is disrespecting Mickeys hoh by being nice to Jimmy.

Morgan is shocked and offended Jimmy doesn’t trust her anymore.

Mickey told Jimmy he should’ve told Keanu he (Jimmy) was too blame for Keanu being a target. Mickey said there’s 2 of her and Morgan, and only one of him. (This was because she thinks Jimmy told Keanu that Mickey and Morgan were targeting him. Jimmy didn’t say this to Keanu but its what Keanu said and they believed him)

Morgan thinks this season is more like Chelsie’s season last year. (The worst strategic player last season would run circles around everyone in this house. MJ could even run the strategy with this group)

Morgan thinks later on in the game, it may be more like Kaycees season with “sides.” (Yes, except they’ll be the Foutte side)

There’s a lot more but that gives you the general idea. There’s also plenty of talk about the order everyone’s going to be evicted and who will or will not make their precious jury. A lot of these conversations were in private between Mickey and Morgan but the jury talk, it’s basically out in the open. (These people are nuts)

There was also a lot of selfrighreous bullshit over how wronged they’ve been by Jimmy. I think I mentioned this on Friday but there’s only a couple of things Jimmy’s done that were sketchy. He didn’t listen to Mickey and Morgan when they pressed him about putting Amy on the block. Since Mickey and Morgan were upset with him, he spent more time with Katherine that week. He ended up telling Katherine that Mickey & Morgan tried to get Rylie otb. He DID do both of those things. He isn’t to blame for the other things they’re accusing him of doing it. Most of their shit talking is the typical thing where you have to turn someone into a villain, so you don’t feel guilty about trying to evict them. (You don’t need a psychology degree to figure this one out)

Here’s a rundown of the game talk from yesterday. Honestly, most of it doesn’t matter because as usual, everyone was lying but there’s a few tidbits that could be relevant later.

After the fan votes, Rachel was chosen to be goo’d yesterday. Some of them (mainly Vince) are paranoid that after getting this ‘punishment,’ Rachel may have also gotten a power. (If true, we would’ve known about it) I could have seen her getting some kind of shopping spree reward to buy her ‘better clothes’ but I think they would’ve found out about that after she got goo’d. (This show gets more like a Nickelodeon kids show every season) Rachel jokingly blamed Jimmy for her being chosen since he’s given her a hard time over her clothes.

Ava finally realized she had some valuable info and told Ashley about Zach and Vinny trying to get her to flip her vote last week. Ashley’s had several brief moments the past few days where she realizes she can’t trust Zach. These moments never seem to last very long though. Ashley, Will and Ava talked about how they needed to save Jimmy this week and that Mickey and Morgan were losing their minds.

Jimmy campaigned to Vinny, and later Lauren, because he thinks he just needs 2 more votes to stay this week. Vinny is worried about Rachel coming after him and Jimmy said, if Vinny kept him, Rachel and Ashley would both be on Vinny’s side. (Neither of them believe this)

To help Jimmy, Rachel had a ‘let’s start over’ convo with Vinny. They’re fine with each other now, everything’s great, blah blah blah. (Neither of them believe this either) Later, Rachel told Jimmy that Vinny was VERY convincing and said he’s really good. She said he fake cried several times during their talk. Haha

Ava is another good liar because she was very convincing when she talked to Ashley. I was genuinely surprised when later, she talked to Mickey and spilled the entire convo. She told Mickey “don’t tell Ashley shit anymore” and warned her Ashley is trying to save Jimmy. I don’t claim to understand Ava’s game or her strategy. As much as I like Ava, I’m not sure she even has a strategy.

I know Mickey’s put in time with Ava in the past so I can see where Ava could want to work with Mickey more than she wants to work with Ashley. However, Ava is also working with Rachel and I don’t think that’s fake based on things she said to Mickey about Rachel. It’s possible Ava wants to work with Rachel but she’d rather take Jimmy and Ashley away from Rachel first. (Yes, I know, I may be giving these people too much credit)

If that’s the strategy, I think it’s still a mistake. Like Mickey, Ava needs people like Ashley and Jimmy to be targets ahead of her when people like Rylie, Vince and Keanu wins hoh. I said in the beginning, I could see Ava going deep into the game. I could also see her being a pawn who accidentally goes home one week because Mickey and Morgan need to save a stronger ally.

Will joined the Mickey and Ava talk. He was also there for part of the Ava and Ashley chat. He’s similar to Vinny where he just agrees with whatever’s being said at the moment. He had me convinced he was team Ashley all the way but now, I have no idea. Maybe he’s just team Will, and he’s waiting to see who comes out on top.

Will also talked to Keanu about working together. Will knows Keanu was trying to save Adrian last week but said he didn’t care, that was in the past. (This may turn into nothing too)

Jimmy told Ashley about Zach saying he would target Ashley and wanted to make her a have not. Like every other time, she believed it for a minute annnnd then said she didn’t. Later, Rachel told Jimmy he shouldn’t have said that to Ashley. Jimmy talked to Ashley again and tried to backtrack a little bit. Rachel knows he needs votes so he shouldn’t be spilling anything right now. (It doesn’t matter, he’s not getting the votes)

Ashley and Mickey had another chat where Ashley tried to fix the tension from the day before. On Monday, Ashley and Mickey had a weird conversation. Mickey reminded Ashley that Jimmy would put Ashley on the block. Mickey got mad when Ashley said Jimmy’s noms may change now after Mickey put him otb. Mickey said no, they wouldn’t. They’re both stubborn so Ashley said yes, they would. Mickey was also really condescending and had told Ashley “I don’t have another power to save your ass.” (Ashley didn’t buy this because she knows Rylie would’ve put Mickey otb too)

Anyway, Ashley talked to Mickey again yesterday to try to ease the tension. She said Mickey hurt her feelings because she was rude to her. Mickey denied being rude to Ashley and the atmosphere in the hoh room was cold. Ashley said she felt so close to Mickey the week before, but this week, it felt different. (True) Ashley also denied trying to help Jimmy stay this week, but Mickey knows that’s not true from talking to Ava. In the same way Mickey decided Jimmy isn’t on her side, she’s done the same thing with Ashley now.

The problem is, Ashley kept saying she was indifferent as to whether or not Jimmy left this week. Mickey was over the top by thinking this was betrayal. She didn’t want Ashley to be indifferent. She wanted Ashley to jump on the “let’s bash Jimmy train.”

In Mickey’s defense, and this is the only one for the week, Ashley DID seem indifferent when Mickey asked her about it before the renom. It’s not only weird to Mickey, it’s also weird strategy for Ashley to not care a d then right after Jimmy’s on the block, start campaigning for him to stay. (Girl, where was this energy BEFORE he went on the block?)

Mickey eventually asked Ava about the Vinny/Zach situation and trying to vote Will out last week. (I may have missed this because I don’t know if Mickey found this out from Ashley or from someone else Ashley told after Ava told Ashley, sorry) When Mickey asked Ava, Mickey made it sound like it’s just something she pieced together on her own and that’s not believable to me.
Ava riding the hammock like its a roller coaster:

Ava downplayed it to Mickey alot more than when she told Ashley. She made it sound like Vinny just kind of pushed for it and Zach was mostly just there. Again, I don’t know Ava’s strategy here. She may see that Mickey is working with Vinny and Zach and wants to avoid getting in trouble with the two of them.

This should show Mickey she can’t trust either of them but I don’t know what she’s thinking either. I do know Mickey is still telling Morgan that Vince needs to go soon. (The week this happens is going to be a battle between Mickey and Morgan)

I think a lot of the time, people go off vibes and how people make them feel in the house. Vinny and Zach are doing the exact same things together. They’ve also started to get outed with it a little bit. Here’s the thing though, at least for now, Vinny is taking all the heat and Zach is getting a pass. Everyone thinks they can trust Zach, even though he’s in the same conversations Vinny is having. I think the general vibe in the house is that Zach seems like a trustworthy guy and Vinny doesn’t. They’re not wrong about Vinny, but they’re definitely wrong about Zach.

I think whether or not Mickey can come out of this week somewhat okay will depend on where Will and Ava land. Don’t get me wrong, she still screwed up her game this week because she’s losing a number, even if Jimmy wins the block buster and stays. If Will and Ava stick with Mickey, at least she’ll still have some numbers and she’ll need them.

Rylie won’t forget Mickey stole his hoh and put him otb no matter what he’s saying to her. She also doesn’t have Vinny and Zach’s loyalty, in spite of the bullshit Morgan’s trying to feed her. (Morgan doesn’t even really have Zach and Vinny’s loyalty)

The strategy this season is terrible but there’s at least a few interesting things to wait and see how they play out. I’ve already mentioned do Will and Ava go with Ashley and Rachel or Mickey and Morgan? Does Mickey and Morgan chill out about wanting to target Ashley and do they make up?

Do Rylie and Katherine still want to target Zach, along with Mickey, Morgan and Ashley? (Remember, they forgave Vinny, but they don’t trust Zach anymore since he didn’t vote to keep Adrian)

Kelley says she doesn’t trust Vinny anymore after the Adrian vote but she did run to Vinny and tell him everything Jimmy spilled to her after Jimmy went on the block. She also talked to the cameras and told us that Vinny wasn’t her friend anymore so who knows? If Kelley stays, could she end up being a deciding vote sometime soon?

Who does Rachel try to align with if Jimmy leaves this week? Morgan and Mickey don’t want her targeted yet, but Rachel knows some of the conversations they’ve had about wanting Rachel to be the first one in jury. Like I said, the strategy is shit but some of these questions may at least keep it interesting.
Have a great Wednesday!
Mel
