Big Brother 27 – Rylie / Katherine Over Already?
What goes on in the Big Brother house, stays in the Big Brother house.
Usually – Except for most showmances.
While some flirtmances immediately fizzle out the second they leave the house and see other people again (Leah, Quinn), most try to give it a little chance, and there is a high percentage chance that it sticks. Something like Big Brother having more successful relationships than some other show (Bachelor?).
What doesn’t happen often is a couple grows inseparable in the house, only to immediately split up once they leave. Those couples almost always give it a shot. Until now, I guess
The Sun is reporting that Rylie and Katherine have pretty much been a nonstarter since she left the house.
“They are “barely speaking at all right now.”
“They still haven’t seen each other [in person]. They talked here and there after the show, but it was very weird, very awkward.”
“The response to everything was overwhelming for both of them, and they didn’t know how to handle it.”
“It drew a wedge between them. Rylie pulled away. Katherine didn’t want to push him. And now it’s basically done.”
I kind of got a hint at this yesterday when I saw this photo:
It seems Katherine is out with other cast members and not trying to spend time with Rylie. That NEVER happens. I think of Cody / Jessica as he was more of the clingy type and I don’t recall seeing Jessica at any cast event (probably because Cody hated his cast).
I also had the feeling as early in the season, Katherine just didn’t seem into him, despite what she said. It seemed like he kind of grew on her, but after the season when she learns of him basically being a BB outcast now – in addition to her friends likely calling her nonstop – it never had a chance.
I’m going to say something controversial, but I feel bad. And look, I absolutely acknowledge he was a lot more controlling than is acceptable, and certainly more than I am. But he absolutely loved that girl and she really did seem to feel the same for him. And hopefully, when things settle down, they can give it another chance in a better environment. An environment where Katherine can have friends to call on and ask if he’s being controlling or clingy. She had none of that in the isolation of BB.
