Big Brother 28-Sunday Recap for 7/12/26

Good Morning BBJunkies! We’ve got alliances, a shomance and enemies already so the seasons gotten off to a good pace. Dee’s done a good job as hoh so far since only Mallory and maybe Yash are planning to put her up as a nom.

I feel like a Survivor player coming in and playing Big Brother will go one of two ways because of the huge difference in the pace of the games. Survivor moves at a much more rapid speed than the game of Big Brother. With Cirie, when she played BB, it almost got her in trouble a few times. She didn’t know how to handle the down time and she and Izzy constantly strategized to have something to do. I think it’s why they would change their minds 10 times every week about every decision. With Dee, she’s also good at making those fast decisions but so far, isn’t falling into that trap. She makes the decision and doesn’t feel the need to rehash it over and over again.

Dee also has most of the house either feeling bad for her over being the first hoh and blaming other people for her noms this week. Most of the hg’s think Haley, Kamu and Chuk steered her noms. Taylor, who she nominated, wants to work with her. Jason thinks they need to help her learn how to play the game and last night, Rome said Dee is the female version of himself. (Good 1st week for Dee!)

Rome even told her Yash isn’t over being nominated and wants to targer her. He also named off all the people Yash was trying to form an alliance with to go after her.

I think I’m just going to do the recap today and maybe the first few by going player by player. I’ve done that in the past and it kind of helps me remember things better. It’s easier for me to stay organized with the recap while they’re still so many people in the house. I also think I’m going to do something new this year. I usually spout off pretty quickly about who I like and who I don’t like but I’m going to keep that to myself for now. I want to see if you guys figure out who my faves are…so far. I try not to be biased in the recaps.(I save that for the comment section) I try but I don’t know if I’m successful. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to talk shit about everybody because that’s kind of what I do. I’m just trying to determine if I’m being biased towards or against people without realizing it. I figure, if you don’t know who my favorites are, I’m recapping in an unbiased way. Anyway, moving on with the recap…

Rome, how should I say this? Rome has a very healthy amount of self-esteem, so good for him. He and Lyric are a full blown couple at this point. Although Dee and Angela are becoming a bit aware of his game, he’s pretty well positioned.

He has the shomance, (will the ship name be Lyme??) kind of a 3 with Lyric and Jason and he formed an alliance with Lala (LaTrice) and Jason called Mama’s Angels. (Creativity for names may not be a thing this year)

He also has a working relationship with people like Devens, Yash and Kamu to a certain extent. I also don’t think Melody or Mallory would put him on the Block because of their friendship with Lyric.

Lyric is falling for Rome so for anyone hoping she was doing this as a strategy, I’m sorry. She camera talked to her mom about falling in love and hoping it didn’t mess up her game. She kind of has her side thing with Melody and Mallory but I feel like the more time she spends with Rome, the more they’ll move on without her. She also seems close to Jason.

Her game up to this point appears to be talking to Jason and waking Rome up every time he falls asleep. However, she did have a decent enough conversation with Dee to eliminate her as an option for the renom today.

Side note: I read that Lyric has a brother named Chord but I don’t know if it’s true. I read it on Twitter so consider the source. If true, the entire family is REALLY into music!

Jason is the main one focused on getting the icons, vets or whatever out of the game. It’s not a bad strategy but he’s extremely sloppy about it. He’s told almost everyone at this point instead of waiting until he actually has some power to get the job done. Last night, he may have made the mistake of telling Drew and Melody. I’ll be curious today to see if Drew tells his Crossovers alliance about it. (In BB 25, the Cirie and Corey group were called the Crossroads. See? No creativity this year)

I suppose I get why Jason’s not trying to play with the returning players and yes, I know Dee and Devens aren’t returning to BB but you know what I mean. Since he’s made the choice to keep his reality tv experience a secret, he can’t bond over being a reality star. What I’m questioning are Jason’s reasons for wanting to get them out. It would make sense if he was saying things like “Devens is really sneaky” and “Dee’s already won a million dollars” or “Angela’s crazy.” That doesn’t seem to be the motivation. Jason’s upset that they’re getting more tv time and DR’s and Devens keeps “stealing” his jokes. Apparently, there’s been a few times that Jason was going to reply to someone with a joke and Devens beat him to it. (Technically that’s not stealing, that’s just being faster at talking, but whatever)

I think if Jason’s not careful, this could get him in trouble quickly. It’s a shame too because he’s well liked in the house and could be positioning himself much better. For example, Angela really likes him but I don’t think he likes Angela at all.

Similar to Jason, LaTrice (who will be Lala from now on) has some interesting strategy too. She wants Angela out bad and I think it’s weird because Angela really seems to like Lala. Sure, target Angela if she’s a threat to your game but at the moment, she isn’t. It feels like Lala wants Angela out because she wants to be the only mama in the house. I still can’t believe that woman is almost 58 years old! I would call it life goals for myself but since I’ll be turning 57 this summer, I think that ship has sailed.

Lala is well liked by most of the house. The exception is Haley and Chuk. Haley, Chuck and Kamu talked to Dee yesterday to try to get Lala as the replacement nom.

After the convo, Dee camera talked and said “they think I’m f*cking stupid.” Honestly, I’m not even sure why they want her on the block. I heard Haley telling Kamu that it would “blow that shit up” if Lala went on the block. (I don’t know what the shit is that will be blown) At one point yesterday, I heard Chuk say “it would free up the kitchen if she left.” That’s all I know about it for now.

Haley, Kamu and Chuk are a known trio already. It’s been bad for Dee that she was lumped in with them but it’s good for her that they seem to be taking the blame for her noms. I think Chuk and Kamu are the only people in the house that still like Haley. People seem to like Kamu but are threatened by him. It’s the usual ‘we want him gone but we need someone else to target him’ thing. Kamu seems the most into the Red Corner being a real alliance. He talks about protecting Dee more than Chuk and Haley do.

Haley talks alot about women not liking her because she’s hot and women not wanting her around their boyfriends. She said on the episode last night, shes a “girls guy.” (Ya, we knew what she meant)

Chuk doesn’t like Lala or Taylor. He and Haley promised to keep Taylor this week tho and Haley wants to hold him to it. That’s about as deeply as I’ve dove into Chuk at this point. I know before coming in, he had the strategy of getting in good with all the women. In reality, it seems like he got in good with Haley and then wants her to get him in good with the rest of the women. I don’t think that’s going to work very well and if it was ever going to, Haley is not a good choice to be his spokesperson.

Taylor didn’t get off to a great start by being on the block and being a have not. She wasn’t social enough and wasn’t gaming very hard the first few days. She talked a lot about being hungry so I think that was occupying most of her thoughts for a while. I have to say though, I think Ashley being considered as the renom to replace Mallory, is mostly due to Taylor. Taylor had at least two really good talks with Dee and that’s mostly what got Dee off of Melody and has her considering Ashley. (Melody would’ve been better for Taylor since alot of people don’t care for her but Taylor doesn’t know that info) Except for Chuk not liking her, the rest of the house seems to quite alot.

She’s close to Lala, Angela and Barrett. She’s been working on Mallory too. She handled going on the Block a lot better than Mallory did. Even though Dee put her on the block, she’s done enough to make Dee still feel good about her.

Mallory, like Jason, talks too openly. She did great by winning that first veto and being able to take herself off the block today. I also liked something she said to Taylor. Mallory said the reason Taylor should put Dee on the block if she were to win the HOH was to help her avoid being a pawn again. Mallory explained that people shouldn’t feel like there wouldn’t be any repercussions if you put them on the block and I agree.

However, she tells everyone that will listen that she plans on putting Dee up . She absolutely should but she should keep her mouth shut about it until she actually wins the HOH. Mallory appeared to be figuring out that Melody had pulled back from her after going otb. The verdict is still out as to whether or not she’s going to forgive and forget and move on from it.
Melody doesn’t realize how close she came to being the target this week. Truthfully, I kind of wanted her to go on the Block for having tunnel vision. She got picked to play in the veto but didn’t want to win because she did not want to use it on Mallory. It’s as if it didn’t occur to her that winning it could ensure her safety for the week. I will say, she seems more of a gamer than I initially thought she would be. Actually, she may be too much of a gamer. She got so focused on distancing herself from Mallory after she was nominated, she didn’t think about how it would look. Devens and Drew have talked about how disloyal it made Melody look. She was quick to pull a ‘I don’t know her’ and people noticed. She made a final two with Drew the other day but Drew’s already told the Crossovers about it. He was also fine to vote her out this week if she went otb. Melody also doesn’t like Angela and Angela doesn’t like Melody, so theres that.

Drew is another one who is way more of a gamer that I first thought. So far, he seems loyal to the Dee, Angela, Devens and Barrett alliance. Out of the group, I think he’s bonding the most with Devens. Since Devens had no idea that Jason was after him, I think I already mentioned I’m very curious to see if Drew tells him. Angela told Dee to watch out for Drew and doesn”t fully trust him. I don’t know if Drew has done anything suspicious or if this is just Angela being Angela.

Barrett, who is also in the Crossovers, is the least ‘in it.’ He camera talked last night and said it was working for him for now. He’s been enjoying flirting with Dee and was already an Angela fan before going in the house. I’m not saying Drew won’t do it but I definitely think Barrett will turn on the alliance when it’s time.

Except for Haley, Chuk and Kamu, most of the house thinks Barrett is great. He knows they tried to get Dee to put him up as the replacement nom. I think most of the house sees him as a floater looking for an alliance.
Oops, just realized I don’t have a Yash pic, sorry.

Yash is actually the floater looking for an alliance. I think most of the guys feel good with him even though they’re not actually aligned with him. As I’ve already mentioned, he’s trying to form an alliance with Rome, Lyric, Mallory, Melody and I can’t remember who else. There was one funny moment when he approached Rome to be in it and told Rome he didn’t want Lyric to be in it. Rome told him he should have Lyric in his alliance instead of himself. (It was a weird convo) Yash has told Dee that they’re good but they’re not. Like I said, except for Yash and Mallory, Dee’s looking pretty good heading into next week.

Dee talked to Ashley yesterday to let her know she may go up today. She did the usual ‘I like you’ and ‘you’re not the target’ stuff. They also bonded a little over not liking Haley which was an amusing conversation. Ashley gave a little push back but not enough to keep her off the block in my opinion. Most of the house really enjoys Ashley as a person. I think her problem is that she didn’t realize they were playing a game until yesterday.

It looked like she and Barrett might align in the beginning but he gave up when he couldn’t get anything out of her related to game. Its been the same for most of the house. It’s the reason she was a good choice to go on the Block. She’s liked but doesn’t have anybody sticking their necks out for her so there’s less repercussions for Dee if she puts her up.

Devens is looking better than he was at the start of the game. He still has Jason after him but little by little, he’s getting in with people. Of course, he has the Crossover alliance and the Red Corner. I do want to point out that when Kamu talks about protecting the alliance, he mentions Dee but I haven’t heard him mention Devens. Devens made a deal with Rome to look out for each other. He stroked Romes ego by saying he was viewed as a big threat and said he was know on Survivor for being loyal. (Not a lie) I think of the three game vets, Devens could be in the most trouble. Most of the house wants to work with Dee and I think he’ll appear more threatening than Angela. Of course, that all depends on who ends up with the next few hoh’s. Lala, for example, would take out Angela over Devens.

That leaves us with Angela. She’s gotten off to a way better start than she did on her first season. Her alliance is a real one and for now, they’re loyal to her. Barrett genuinely likes her and so does Taylor. Lala and Taylor are close but don’t have the same opinion of Angela. She’s had some good moments with both Ashley and Mallory but we don’t know yet if it will stick.

I mean, she had some really good moments with Jason too and he wants her out pretty bad. I think Mallory will remember how caring Angela was while she was otb but Mallory is close with Melody who doesn’t like Angela at all.

Angela and Dee had a talk on the bathroom floor venting a little bit. They discussed not liking Haley, Chuk and Melody. They also talked about how they were both onto Romes game. They both agree he’s the most protected person in the house at the moment. This was the conversation where Angela told Dee they needed to keep an eye on Drew.

Look, I was an Angela fan during her season when I know many of you weren’t. I just liked the constant chaos she caused because she was so unpredictable. Since I covered that season, I’m not delusional. I don’t think it’s a matter of if Angela freaks out this season. I think it’s only a matter of when will it happen? She’s already concerned about Drew and you just know the moment is coming when she starts to think Dee and Devin will stick together and choose each other over her.

I’m expecting Ashley to be the replacement nom today but have no idea who will go home. I think the Crossover alliance would like to see Yash go. Unlike Ashley and Taylor, Yash seems to feel he’s safe no matter what happens this week with the blockbuster comp. I don’t have a clue about the votes yet between Ashley and Taylor.

Taylor’s already gotten to work getting people committed to voting for her to stay no matter who she’s against.

Ashley, who will be getting a late start, went to work yesterday too. She’s in this position because she wasn’t talking game but I have to give her credit. As soon as she found out she may go on the block, she started making the rounds talking to people.

I know this was a long one but if you’ve been here a while, you know they usually are the first part of the season. Besides, it gives you something to read while you’re waiting for that veto ceremony to end. Have a great Monday!
Mel
still tends to annoy people a bit but he’s definitely a gamer
