Big Brother 28-Thursday Recap for 7/23/26

Good morning all, its officially week 3 in the BB house with a new hoh and probably even more paranoia. But first…I wanna talk about the episodes. They’ve been so much better than where we began. (Please no more dino’s!) The Wednesday episode is usually my least favorite because it’s 90 minutes and it’s more comp heavy. I thought Sunday’s episode was great and full of game talk. We got the rest of the nomination ceremony on Wednesdays and it made those 90 minutes go by much faster. The Thursday episode is always good because there’s an eviction.

I do have two small critiques about the episode last night. As much as I like Ross Mathews, why did he need to come out and talk to Julie? He basically came on stage to say he would be back the very next night? Weird. Ross and Jason have a history so I’m curious if Ross will have any shady comments about him. They do not care for each other at all!

We already know from the past couple of seasons that the campaigning Julie wants the hg’s to do after the Blockbuster comp but before the vote isn’t happening. Instead, they use that time to hug the people who played in the blockbuster. Now, for some reason, everyone is hugging everyone and I don’t get the point! Don’t they do enough of that all day?

I only took two screenshots from Wednesday’s veto episode. It’s because I kept being distracted by this guy. Who is this and why was he there?

I also couldn’t resist getting this shot of Angela in the diary room. I still think Vince made a better Egg Detective but probably because of the mustache. Regardless, Eggela did it justice:

Here’s a couple of things from the daytime feeds…
Some of the Crossovers are continuing to put a towel behind the toilet because it irritates Lala. Drew got out of bed in the middle of the night to do the most recent one. This is Lala with Angela’s magnifying glass trying to investigate the situation:

Dee and Drew had an in depth conversation as to why a lot of the women in the house often don’t wear bras. (He’s 22)

Jason left the have not room and announced it was because Rome and Lyric were making out. This was the look on Chuk’s face:

Chuk, Yash and Kamu still believed they were broken up even though the rest of the house had finally accepted it was fake. I’m still waiting for the vets to connect the dots. They’re still so convinced that Lyric is harmless and isn’t capable of lying. However, they also know that she successfully convinced them she and Rome were broken up.

Speaking of have nots, they didn’t end until last night. I don’t know the reason but I did hear one of them say they finally realized they didn’t have to sleep in the have not room Wednesday night but had anyway. (Did production not tell them Wednesday evening have nots were over?) The new have nots are Dee, Mallory, Yash and Melody.

Drew helped Melody prepare for a couple possible Blockbuter comps:

Anyway, Jason won the blockbuster last night:

Rome seemed happy for him:

Rome was evicted and possibly made Lyrics game harder on his way out:

Rome was a good sport about it but Julie asked him some pretty stupid questions. (Lyrics dad’s song, the wedding, etc.) I did enjoy Rome not knowing who the vote was to keep him. At least for now, Taylor is keeping her mouth shut but as expected, Angela is blaming Drew. (Ya, he was the 1 vote against the girl he hangs out with all the time, come on!)

Bye Rome and please don’t propose at the finale!

Angela got out of the egg costume shortly after the live show ended last night. She asked production if they were going to make her wear it and have a disadvantage during the HOH comp but obviously they weren’t. As for the hoh comp, there are SPOILERS BELOW…
Lyric looks a little older with her hair up:

The new hoh is Kamu. He seems like a very laid back and steady guy. We may still have some drama this week but I don’t see it coming from the HOH room.

Angela talked to Dee about trying to get Kamu to put Taylor on the block. She asked Dee to push for it too but Dee declined. She said she didn’t think it was a good look for both of them to be campaigning against the same person. (I think maybe Angela thinks if Taylor leaves, she can pull Lala to her more)

Angela told Dee that she’s becoming more of a gamer (she’s not) since Dee is such a gamer. Dee told Angela she was becoming more crazy since Angela is crazy. (She is)

What Angela wants isn’t going to matter this week because Kamu told Taylor she was safe. (He likes Taylor)

He also told Lyric she was safe because his initial plan was to nominate Jason, Lala and Mallory. When Kamu talked to Lyric, she threw Melody under the bus and little bit and told Kamu he was her type on the outside. (Haha) It’s too soon to know if we have the next Allison Irwin in the game. (BB4 reference if you’re new to BB)

Haley wants Kamu to target Lala this week and Kamu basically told her she could do it when she wins the HOH. She kept pushing for it tho and Drew told her he didn’t think it was necessary to take out Lala this soon either. This isn’t even strategic, Haley just doesn’t like Lala. When Drew asked her reason, all Haley could come up with was LaLa causes chaos. (Thats supposed to be a good thing)

Haley Angela and Dee met with Kamu, mainly for Angela to try and protect Mallory and push for a Taylor nom. Kamu told them Mallory is targeting the vets hard. Angela didn’t like this news because she’s felt like she had a good relationship with Mallory. Kamu went thru the entire thing. He told them about Mallory saying that the vets would probably get the next two powers and they should take one of them out before they could. (Angela had some pull with Devens last week so she thought she could do it again. I don’t think she’s realized it wasn’t going to take much at all to get Devens to do something big)

Angela also campaigned a little to Barrett, Devens and Dee about keeping Mallory safe. Devens told her that he knew Mallory was targeting Dee and himself. He said he thinks Mallory is a good target. (Too bad Ang)

Drew and Barrett seemed bummed Kamu won the hoh since they were hoping to get him out this week. Honestly, for their games, I think it’s better it happened this way, even if they don’t know it. I think if they had proposed this to the Crossovers, it would’ve just made them look more suspicious.

Hopefully last night’s episode with the clip of Drew and Barrett cleared up the loyalty issue. (For us, not with Angela and Dee) Barrett and Drew aren’t unhappy with the Crossovers. They’re unhappy about the Red Corner and the Crossovers coming together to form the Tool Shed. Barrett doesn’t have anything with Kamu and even tho Drew does, he still sees Kamu as a threat. (Drew is in a fake final 2 with Kamu called the Handymen)

Drew talked to Kamu and Kamu laid out his plan for Lala, Mallory and Jason to go up. Drew suggested they give Jason the “Rome treatment” and back door him instead. (Yes I know it’s not a back door but I don’t know what the hell to call it) Since Jason is good at comps, Drew doesn’t think they should give him two chances to come off the block.

Kamu’s new plan (Drews plan) is to nominate Lala, Mallory and Lyric with Jason as the replacement nom. The goal is to take out either Jason or Mallory. Kamu told Devens about it and said it was Drews idea. I’m pretty sure Drew doesn’t want people thinking this is his idea but in this case, it could accidentally help Drew. Maybe it will make Devens see there isn’t anything shady going on.

Kamu met with the guys to fill them in on the plan. Yash was there for it since he thinks he’s with them. Both Kamu and Chuk accidentally brought up the tool shed with Yash in the room and more than once. Yash didn’t seem to catch on but if they keep making this mistake, someone is going to catch it at some point.

Lyric did more flirting with Chuk. I guess he finally realized Rome and Lyric were still together but it looks like he doesn’t care since Rome isn’t there anymore.

Lyric has been downplaying it too. I think her strategy is to make it sound like Rome fell for her but she wasn’t quite there yet. I actually give her credit for this because so often, we see people mope and whine and cry. She appeared to be a little down last night but only in private. She’s surprised me at how well she’s been able to separate her romance from her own game.

Lyric talked to Yash and he suggested she stop flirting. (Haha) This comment seemed to throw her for a second. She started saying that she wasn’t flirting, she was just a nice person. (I know a lot of nice people and none of them flirt with me) Unless something weird happens with a blockbuster, I think Lyric is going to be sticking around for quite a while.

Dee talked to Taylor about Taylor using Dees name when she was counting votes to keep Jason. Dee asked her not to include her name when she was counting votes in the future. Taylor apologized and said she wouldn’t. Taylor asked Dee if the alliance was real and Dee asked her which one?

When Kamu talked to Melody, he let her know about Lyric throwing her under the bus a little bit. Kamu was the other person this week besides Drew who was hoping to keep Melody so she’s definitely safe this week. Melody put in work having conversations with Kamu lately and now she’s getting the payoff. Oh, Meldoy is suddenly a little religious now that Kamu is the hoh. Hahaha

In other news, Devens offered his hoodies to Dee for the have not room. She declined so he said he was going to offer them to Mallory and Melody.

Taylor complained about the chicken being bland. I think maybe Haley cooked but I’m not sure. I told you guys, I mostly ignore the kitchen activity.

Jason got nothing from Kamu when they spoke so I’m sure he’s going to spiral this week. I mentioned last night in the comments that Jason could be kind of interesting to watch, assuming he doesn’t leave next.

He’s extremely good at comps but he’s also a very messy player and that’s a combination we don’t get too often. I threw out Tucker as being similar but was trying to think of other players. I guess Rachel and Janelle fit that too but can ya’ll think of others?

Drew had already said Jason should go on Ru Paul’s Drag Race earlier in the week. Yesterday, Devens suggested the same thing after Jason said he did some appearance connected to the show. Lol

Ok, this is more random but the shout outs this season have been funny. Yash hit us with a DJ Khaled one and Brandon Donlon was thrilled he got one from Dee last night. The first week, we got an BBQ joint from Lala. If they insist on doing them, I’m glad this cast is at least keeping it interesting.

I kind of wanted Mallory or Melody to win the hoh. I think Melody is ready to go after everyone and Mallory recently said “I want to win the hoh. Those f***ers have been in Disneyland for too long.”
Ashley, last year’s BB winner, interviewed Ashley, this years first boot. Winner Ashley wanted to make first boot Ashley aware of the comments Taylor had made about her the week she was in the house. Now before y’all start thinking Ashley’s doing some kind of public service, I think there’s an another motive.

Winner Ashley isn’t happy about some of the comments she’s heard from Taylor on the feeds. Taylor, while discussing last season, said she thought Ashley floated all season and accidentally won a comp to get her the win. Taylor also said she was rooting for Morgan. Ashley’s been making passive aggressive comments about Taylor since this happened. She’s also beefing with Morgan pretty hard but thats a whole other story.

Yash also thinks he’s getting America’s vote because of his “storyline.” I can’t even begin to tell you what that possibly means. He also said he and Taylor have an “unspoken alliance.” (He may want to speak on it with Taylor)

Nominations coming later today so stay tuned and have a great weekend!
Mel
