Big Brother 28-Recap for Sunday 7/26-26

Hello everyone, Yesterday was a slow day in the BB house until the evening when the hg’s went to the worst tea party ever. I’ll just do a summary of it and if you want the play-by-play, Steve and Lynn covered it last night on the live feed updates.

Kamu had a plan to call out Jason during Mallorys planned tea party for some of Jasons game talk over the weekend. Personally, I don’t even understand why he wanted to do it. Jason’s going on the block today as the replacement nom and he’s already a target in the house. He ran the plan by Dee and Angela and they both encouraged it. I have a feeling Angela just wanted the drama but Dee thought it would make Kamu look bad so that’s why she encouraged it.

Before the tea party happened, there was some game talk earlier in the day that may be relevant. Devens had a chat with Drew in the backyard and was making subtle comments which I think were trying to send Drew a message. It was things like people needing to win comps to show which side they were on, how playing the middle for too long can be dangerous, etc.

Devens knows Dee and Angela are wanting to target Drew sooner than later. Devens had to talk Angela down a little bit over the weekend. She wants to target him now but Devens thinks it needs to happen later. (No shit?) Dee also seemed to be getting wrapped up in Angela’s paranoia but after talking to Devens a couple of times, she seems to have settled down.

There’s a chance Dee gets wrapped up in it for real in the moment but it’s also possible she just plays into it to keep Angela happy. I only say this because when she’s speaking with Devens, she goes back to being an actual gamer with good plans. Anyway, Devens got Angela to slow her roll a little bit but this is a long game and I don’t know if Dee and Devens realize hard Angela will be to control.

Angela will agree with them but an hour later, she moves on and does what she wants anyway. Don’t get me wrong, Angela’s got a right to play her own game but I think Angela doesn’t realize, she’s really bad at this game. Her entire game is based on paranoia and quite possibly, the voices in her head.

Sorry, I got off track. (Shocker!) I’m not sure if the way I read the conversation between Devens and Drew was accurate but I am sure Devens knows the importance of keeping Drew and Barrett on their side for now. During their talk, Drew was subtly feeling out the idea of keeping Mallory over Lala this week if Jason wins the Blockbuster.

Dee and Devens want Mallory gone and Drew and Barrett prefer to keep her. They all spent all weekend saying they’re fine taking out whoever but it’s not true. Drew and Barrett have even talked about voting to keep Mallory anyway and dealing with the fallout afterwards.

There’s also been alot of seed planting by Devens and Dee to some of the other hg’s. After Taylor presented Devens with a potential alliance over the weekend, it seemed to me that Devens was trying to tell Drew they needed to watch out for her. Taylor used M&M’s to show Devens how the house was divided and she nailed it exactly. I think this had Devens thinking that Taylor is smarter than she’s let on.

Dee has been dropping comments about Drew to Kamu. This could be dangerous for Dee since she has no idea how close Kamu and Drew are in their alliance. She’s basically just saying that she thinks Drew and Barrett might try to take out Kamu, Haley and Chuk. Kamu was also trying to convince Dee that he isn’t close to Haley and Chuk which she isn’t buying.

Dee’s also been spending time with Barrett again trying to reel him back in with her. She and Angela had briefly been lumping him in with Drew as far as not trusting them. For whatever reason, they’ve decided to trust Barrett again. Barrett, not knowing Devens had already told Dee, told her about the Dapper Dan alliance with Drew, Devens and Yash.

In spite of Angela’s paranoia, I think it’s obvious that Drew and Barrett are both actually pretty loyal to Devens, Dee and Angela. It’s the Tool Shed alliance they don’t like, especially Barrett. He doesn’t have the kind of relationship with Kamu that Drew does and that’s why he wants to target them.

Haley got herself into a bit of trouble over the weekend. She’s been spending more time with Angela and decided she wanted to include Angela in the Red Corner alliance. Kamu said he didn’t think it was necessary but Haley had already told Angela about it. (Angela already knew because Devens told her during Dee’s hoh) Haley went on an apology tour to Chuk and Kamu. Kamu tols Haley he wasn’t mad but he was definitely mad.

To return the favor to Haley, Angela told Haley about the vets are working together. (Ya think?) Angela told Dee and Devens she thought they should tell Haley about the Crossovers. Dee and Devens said absolutely not and then Angela admitted she’d told Haley the vets were working together. Angela also said she thought they needed to have a meeting with the six of them to solidify things. Dee and Devens had to point out they’d already done that so doing it again wasn’t necessary.

If you’re confused, this is Angela’s line of thinking. She wants to target Drew and Barrett soon. She knows they can out the Crossovers alliance. Angela thinks they can get ahead of it if they tell Kamu, Haley and Chuk about it in advance. (Here’s a crazy idea, how about not target the people in your Crossovers alliance this soon?) Angela’s just one of those players who thinks she always has to be doing something and can never just let a plan sit. Don’t get me wrong, I think active players do way better in the game than inactive players. However, the things Angela wants to do aren’t usually smart and thats why she should do less.

After Kamu told Lala the hg’s wer annoyed by her trying to boss them around, she said she was going to stop doing it. In her defense, she has stopped hounding people to clean and other people have been allowed to go into the kitchen and cook. However, the way she’s doing it is still pretty vocal. Instead of announcing that the house is dirty and people should clean or announcing that people should go to bed, now she’s saying things like “if they want to live in filth that’s just fine, I ain’t saying shit.” I think she may have missed some of the finer details of what Kamu was trying to tell her.

Lyric will take herself off the block since she won the veto. She’s continuing to play the flirt game and downplay how she feels about Rome. Normally, I would say this isn’t a very good strategy but hey, it seems to be working. She’s no ones target at the moment so flirt away.

Mallory still wants everyones head on a stick and will go after the big players if she can get some power in the game. I think Melody will do the same. Barrett and Drew are trying to sway them but I don’t know if they can be swayed.

This brings me back to the tea party last night. Kamu tried to blow up Jasons game but Jason doesn’t have a game anymore so what was he blowing up? Sure, he got caught telling Haley that he’d go after the vets and telling the vets he’d go after Haley, Kamu and Chuk. He also got busted telling people he’d use the veto on them after telling Kamu he wouldn’t.

So what? Jason did a good job imo of pointing out he was only playing the game. Lala also made this point during the tea party. Jason was honest when Kamu tried to call him out. Kamu thinks he really did something by saying Jason lied to him about what he would do with the veto but wasn’t Kamu lying too? Jason was his back door plan before he even made his initial noms.

Dee knew it was stupid and thats why she encouraged it. She and Devens were worried that everyone in the house likes Kamu. They needed him to knock off a little of his shine to the other hg’s. Sure, it isn’t working yet but he’s in power. Who’s gonna tell Kamu “hey, you didn’t need to do that” the night before the renom?

Taylor, Mallory and Jason have all proven they know what’s (mostly) going on in the house. At separate times, they’ve all pointed out who is working together. Sure, the Drew and Barrett thing is a little muddy. Jason even called that out last night when he said “the middle men” and Taylor sees it too. Even Mallory gets it and has been suspicious of Drew and Barrett. I think the reason she keeps talking to Barrett isn’t because she fully trusts him. I think it’s because she’s trying to pull him away from the vets.

My point is, the weaker side of the house arn’t dumb. They just haven’t won an HOH or had any kind of power in the game to do anything about it. I’m not saying that Jason isn’t a messy player because he’s very messy. If he was going to try to do what he did this weekend, he went about it the wrong way. He either needed to campaign to the vets or campaign to Haley, Chuk and Kamu. He made the mistake of trying to do both at the same time and got caught. I actually don’t even think that would have worked because these two groups are in too tight at the moment so either side was probably going to tell on him anyway.

To finish summarizing:

Kamu tried to call out Jason, Jason said his game was already called out, Jason blamed Angela, next he blamed Haley and then he correctly named the 8 who are working together. Lala wanted to know why she was a target and cried some more.

Angela wanted to deep dive more into the convo and make it about her. Mallory looked distraught since her tea party ended with a thud. Melody noticed birds flying overhead and pointed out a group of crows is called a murder. Dee chimed in to say the birds were probably going to shit on them and then Devens proclaimed the tea party was adjourned. Everyone but Jason got up and started cleaning up from the party while he sat there alone. Eventually, he was called to the DR.

Kamu was confused as to why Lala chose Jason to play in the veto since he’d already told her Jason was the target. (Oh. I don’t know, maybe because she doesn’t have to play your game and she didn’t like your plan??)

Angela ran around saying Kamu did such a good job at the Tea Party. Taylor threw a bit of cold water on all the praise when she told Angela she didn’t want Jason to keep being singled out. Taylor’s position was basically, the damage was done so why do we have to keep beating up on the guy? Angela changed her tune and started saying that she loved Jason and didn’t plan on alienating him.

Jason got a tea pot and spoon and started banging on it. He had some line about how if they wanted to spill tea, he was going to spill more tea tomorrow, meaning today. The banging woke Taylor up and she scolded him.

Jason went to bed with the teapot. I don’t know if he also slept with the broken spoon.

As for my thoughts on the game in general, we’re in desperate need of a power shift no matter who everyone is rooting for. Part of me wants Jason to win the Blockbuster but only if Mallory can stay over Lala and I don’t know if that will happen.

Out of the three, I want Mallory to stay the most. Jason staying could give the Red Corner some opposition in comps but people may not trust him enough to work with him. I think the only way Jason could be effective at this point is if he wins the Blockbuster and also wins the next hoh. I think the other players will have to have that motivation in order for them to work with him. If that can’t happen, then I’m hoping for a Mallory hoh. This has nothing to do with which players are my favorites or who I’m rooting for at the moment.

With Devens already having a major power that’s good for 6 weeks, we can’t have the power stay on one side of the house again next week. If that happens, this game will get very boring, very quickly.

I haven’t even ranted about Devens’ advantage. (He’s only told Dee about it) It should go without saying that I think it’s insane because y’all know, I hate twists anyway. The show knows the well know people will get the fan vote at first. If they insist on doing things like this, it shouldn’t last for 6 weeks. It also shouldn’t start the first week. It should start on maybe week three or four when the viewers have had a chance to get to know some of the other players and maybe start liking them too.

I get it, they had to pay money to get the vets there so they don’t want it to be for nothing. What new players should do is team up with the vets in the beginning because they’re obviously the ones who are going to get the advantages if there’s a vote. This is where Drew and Barrett initially had the right idea. The problem is, the entire house can’t work with the vets because you can’t have a 16 person alliance.

The veto meeting will be later today. Expect Lyric to take herself off the block and Jason to go up in her place. Have a great Monday.
