Big Brother 28-Tuesday Recap for 7/21/26

Good morning, It was a slow one in the BB house but some alliances were formed and people campaigned at least. I can’t say the campaigning was successful and the new alliances probably don’t mean much since everybody outed them as soon as they were made. (Most of them) I think some of the subtle shifting in the house this week are small things that could become more important down the road.

I don’t think Rome is very good at the way he campaigns but I appreciate that he’s doing it. He’s definitely not giving up like so many people do, especially when it’s before jury but he’s trying. He and Lyric also must have done a good job convincing Devens of things since he took Lyric off the block, so I have to give them that one too.

Rome held group meetings to campaign. (I don’t think this was a work smarter, not harder kind of thing) He gathered all the men in the house except for Devens and Jason into the gym to campaign to them as a group. His campaign mostly consisted of him being a shield for all of them.

Dee interrupted the meeting by dragging both Jason and Devens into the gym. She told Rome that he’dd left out two of the men for his group meeting. Since Jason is on the block against Rome and Devens is the one who put them up there, it was obvious why they weren’t included. I think Dee just wanted to interrupt the meeting and let Rome know she knew he was having it.

She also told Rome he was leaving out half of the house (the women) so he obliged and held a bathroom meeting with them to campaign. As that one was ending, Jason came in and said “what he said but double for me.”

Rome and Lyric also spent time swapping slobber and saying they love each other. Rome has gone from telling Lyric he’s going to win the Blockbuster to saying if he doesn’t win, he’ll wait for her. He also told her the only reason he was on the block was because he lifts weights so much and is good looking. (Well, at least there aren’t any low self-esteem issues going on with Rome)

Rome told Lyric he didn’t like the idea of Chuk being the one to “protect” Lyric if he left and admitted he was jealous of the flirting. (Chuk and Kamu only realized yesterday their breakup was fake)

Lyric did some campaigning for Rome. So far, Lyric has campaigned by saying she needs to separate herself from Rome and that it was his fault she went on the block. She simultaneously says Rome told her he loved her and thinks everybody should want to keep him. She’s also told Melody she thinks it would be best for all of them if Rome won the Blockbuster. Melody had to tell her no and that it would be better for Melody’s game if Melody won the Blockbuster.

Lyric talked to Haley about Rome wanting to sacrifice himself for her and asked Haley if she thought it was romantic. Haley simply said “no.” Haley may be annoying but her bluntness really does crack me up.

Melody continues to spent alot more time with Drew and she’s making herself hang out with Dee and Angela a little bit. She knows she needs to to stay safe this week but she really doesn’t like them at all. She also may have no idea how iffy her safety is this week.

Dee’s already made a push to take out Melody over Jason. (This is what I figured she’d do but she did it faster that I thought it would happen) For now, Angela shut it down. Dee told Angela that Devens was the only person in their group Jason would target but Angela reminded her that he would probably target her too. At that point, Dee let it go.

Separately, Haley wanted the same thing. She’s made up with Jason after the nomination ceremony argument and has been spending more time with him the past couple of days. Angela shut this one down too tho. (If Angela was on board, the vote would flip on Devens this week) Jason talked to Haley about the possibility of both Jason and Rome staying this week. Haley told him “no, that won’t happen.” Lol

Jason is doing his own campaigning too and is still going on about Devens stealing all the TV time.
The no trust trio:

Angela suggested to Dee they make an alliance with Taylor and Lala. Before they could really agree to it, Angela suggested it to Taylor. This was the look on Dee’s face:

Regardless of the expression she’s now in a new alliance. I think it’s called The Honor Society? This would actually have been a smart backup plan for Angela and Dee if they’d kept it to themselves but they didn’t. Dee and Angela also tried to get Haley off of wanting to target Lala. They told her they thought the trio of Melody Mallory and lyric was more dangerous but Haley didn’t budge.
The Honor Society:

Meanwhile, Devens, Barrett and Drew made an alliance with Yash called the Dappers or Dapper Dans. (Yash wants to dap everyone up all the time) Again, this was a smart backup plan for the guys if they’d kept it to themselves but they didn’t.

It was still a good idea to do it because Yash is looking for a home and he definitely only wants to work with men. This may pacify him enough for him to let Rome go more easily this week. It may also keep him loyal to them over Rome if Rome wins the Blockbuster and stays.

Yash, who hasn’t really known what’s been going on in the house since the beginning started to play the game. Yes, I know he’s been playing it but he’s only been going to guys and saying “let’s form a guy’s alliance.” (Not alot of effort so far) He’s already coming in handy by telling Barrett that Mallory has started to doubt his loyalty. (Barrett is spending more time with Mallory again)
Barrett the pirate:

Devens let both Drew and Barrett know the other side of the house it’s starting to see that they’re playing both sides.

Devens also reminded the guys (Kamu, Chuk, Barrett, Drew) that he stuck his neck out and Rome or Jason have to go this week.

I don’t know if he started to worry after he made such a bone-headed move by taking Lyric off the block or if it was just the usual chatter.

Drew and Barrett made a final 2 called the Jugglers. They also shared their hierarchy for their alliance. They both agree they’re not loyal to the Red Corner at all. Drew even suggested using Kamu as a pawn the next time they have the hoh. (Yeah, I’m sure that’s gonna go over really well with Kamu) They also agreed they’re most loyal to Devens. After that, is Angela and Dee is last.

I can see this with Drew but if they’d had this conversation a couple of days ago, I think Barrett would’ve had a different order. He was spending a ton of time with Dee and seemed to be crushing on her a little bit. Once Dee realized this, she started subtly letting Barrett know they were strictly platonic. She asked him things like whether or not he thought Mallory was his type. Barrett also appeared to be more quiet and subdued after a couple of these conversations. By yesterday, he seemed to put his head back into the game a little bit more.

Even if this wasn’t Dees intention, I still think it was the best thing that could have happened for Barrett. He’s been following Dee around for days and as far as the game, starting to get left behind. He doesn’t have the relationships with the Red Corner that Drew does or the relationships Drew has with people like Rome. He does however, have a great relationship with Drew and Barrett seems more fun when he’s with Drew.

Drew is all over the place. I think it’s because he’s young and excited to play the game. Personally. I’ve been enjoying watching him on the feeds but he’s starting to get a little messy. Everyone’s noticing how much closer he’s gotten to Melody so he needs to be careful. Even Drew joked that maybe they should take out Melody because she was becoming a distraction for him in the game. With Angela and Dee not trusting him, he needs to be careful. I thought it was just going to be the Survivor players who got bored during the down days and started getting themselves into trouble but I think Drew could be like that too.

He’s suggested to Barrett the idea of keeping Rome over Jason, which Barrett shut down immediately. He also had the idea for the two of them to place a couple of Rogue votes this week and blame them on Kamu and Chuck.

First of all, I don’t even think it would work because I think Angela and Dee would believe Kamu over Drew at this point. Secondly, it would be really stupid since some of the house guests are itching to flip the vote anyway. Drew also wasn’t thinking it through because he said it would end up being only 2 votes to keep Rome. (Did he forget Lyric exists?)

Lala is continuing to annoy people in the house. I think I mentioned this during my last recap but I don’t remember. I find Lala enjoyable to watch but I feel like there’s something going on with her that we don’t fully get. (It’s like last year when to us, it seemed so obvious what Vince was doing but he still had a ton of people trusting him) I think it’s like a vibe that people give off that doesn’t always translate through a screen. You have to be there to really understand it.
A camera day image:

If it was still only Drew and Haley making comments, I would dismiss it but it’s more and more people all the time. From what I can gather, people feel that she’s trying to control the kitchen. I don’t know if she is or not but that’s what I’m hearing. Some of them find her annoying and she’s also turning into the bedtime dictator. Another thing I’ve heard mentioned is how vocal she’s been about NOT being a have not. She’s either saying she doesn’t want to do it or she’s making comments refusing to do it, I don’t know. It’s annoyed enough people that several of them are trying to make her a have not next week because of her comments.
Another camera day image:

I was hoping Lala and Taylor would be more of a factor in the game but so far, they aren’t. They’re fine socially but their strategy is what needs work. The fact that the Honor Society isn’t real to Dee and Angela doesn’t matter because apparently, it’s also not real to Lala. She and Taylor still want to target the vets. (I think their main targets are Devens and Haley first tho)

Kamu told Haley he’d like a final 2 with her. She told him she knew that and said it was because she was pretty. I’m assuming that was a joke or at least hoping. It doesn’t matter because Haley thought it was a good idea to tell Angela about it and discuss whether or not a final two with Kamu was a good idea. Haha

They got a little bit of alcohol last night. The women found it first and Dee suggested keeping it for themselves. They couldn’t get away with it though because Melody and Taylor said no.
Angela doing some Egg Detective work:

Melody called her mom yesterday on the fake phone:

Drew jumped in to talk to her too:

Angela and Dee had another ‘we can’t trust Drew’ chat. Well, Dee had a chat with a headless egg:

They also had another chat about why he couldn’t be trusted. Now, Angela is convinced Drew is some kind of rich kid and lying about it. Apparently, Drew’s dad travels around and does something with bands. Angela has decided that Drew’s dad is actually a famous musician in a band. This is based on the fact that he has nice clothes. Haha

Monday was looking kind of iffy for Melody but by yesterday the vote seems to be back focused on either Rome or Jason for eviction. We still have another day and a half to go so it’s not set in stone at all in my opinion. If Melody ends up leaving this week after Devens has already publicy made Rome his target, this will be a huge HOH fail. He already still has to deal with whoever remains between Rome and Jason. He absolutely doesn’t need both of them to remain in the house this week.

One last bit of major news: Rome told Drew the big secret he’s been hiding from the house. He told him his real name is Jack and not Rome.

I’m so ready for the episode tonight and to see the parts we missed on the feeds! For the moment, I think Melody is safe whether she wins the Blockbuster or not, Rome only stays if he wins the Blockbuster and Jason only stays if he’s sitting beside Rome. (Major emphasis on “for the moment”)
Sorry for the 2 uncropped pics that slipped past me and have a great Wednesday!
Mel
