Big Brother 28-Friday Recap for 7/17/26

Good morning all, I hopped on here this morning and read about Steve’s mom so I’m going to do the Friday recap just to help out. I won’t go thru most of the arguement during the ceremony since Steve covered alot of it in the live feeds updates. I’ll do a quick summary and then move on to the fallout from it.

Prior to the nomination ceremony, Rome had already guessed the noms would probably be Jason, Lyric and even Melody. Jason was spinning out even before it happened. He talked to the cameras and asked America to send his side a power. He said they needed something to go after the “bullies” that were trying to take them out. He sat at the table and sulked and then went to the bedroom for a cry.

The things that unfolded during the ceremony may have been a surprise but the people Devens chose to be nominated weren’t. The hoh meeting with the Crossovers and the Red Corner (when they wouldn’t let Rome in the room) pretty much gave it away ahead of time. The only remaining confusion for Romes side of the house was whether or not Drew and Barrett were with them or with the other side.

Angela won the vote for the first Time Trip challenge or whatever its called. It ended up being the spinning comp that she lost on her first season and she lost again. Now, she has to be in Vince’s Egg Detective costume for the week.

She didn’t mention production giving her anything to swim in but I’m almost positive Vince had a separate outfit he was allowed to wear in the pool. She is having a pretty hard time with it because the costume is extremely heavy. She’s also shorter than Vince so I’m sure it’s a nightmare. I wasn’t surprised one of the vets won the first vote but I have to admit, I was a bit surprised it was Angela. The casual tv only viewers usually carry the vote and ALOT of the casuals despise Angela. Regardless, she won and is in an egg.

She got called to the diary room last night after she was already in bed. There was some talk about needing to make an adjustment since the costume doesn’t fit her very well and of course, the weight of it. I don’t know if this was just Angela hoping or if productions going to do something about it. I heard her say she was going to spend as much time as she could in bed because that’s the only time she can wear the other part of the costume by itself. (If we see her in a different egg, we’ll know if they make a change to it)

Devens nominated Jason, Lyric and Melody and also tried to blow up Romes game in the process. (Obviously, we haven’t seen the ceremony yet so this is all based on everyones retelling of what happened) Devens told everyone about his talk with Rome and how he gave Devens a list of the people he prioritized. Initially, Rome named off 6 people (almost half the house) but narrowed it down when Devens said that was too many people to keep safe. I know a lot of people are saying Rome is a good player but it takes a lot of arrogance to go up to the HOH and request safety for six freakin’ people.

Anyway, Devens got Rome to admit during the nom ceremony that he had a heiriechy on his side. Lala was the most hurt to hear that Rome only requested safety for Jason and Lyric. Lala, Jason and Rome have an alliance called Mama’s Angels and I guess she thought that was his priority. (Why, I don’t know with Rome and Lyric sucking face all the time)

This part is still a little unclear but I also think Lala was upset to find out Jason was trying to pit Angela against her. I also think this may have had something to do with Haley but like I said, it’s not fully clear to me yet. All I know is Lala didn’t go on the block but was the most upset out of everyone after the noms were over.

Angela, who claimed she “didn’t want to do it,” went off on Jason during the ceremony too. (We all know Angela was dying to do it) She busted him on trying to emotionally manipulate her and said she wanted the house to know. At first he denied it but eventually came clean and admitted it. They both cried, hugged and fake made up. (Also, Drew is in the clear because Angela acted like she saw Jason make faces behind her back and he believed it)

Later, Jason told Rome he set Angela off by trying to give her a fist bump after he was nominated. He said he looked over at her and said “good job Angela” to let her know he felt like she was behind his nomination. If I didn’t already mention it, Rome and Jason think both Angela and Haley are behind Devens noms and this is because Drew.

When Rome was questioning Drew about being in the hoh room on Thursday night, he asked who was the main person that didn’t want to let him into the room. Drew said it was Haley. When Rome asked him who was leading the charge against him, Drew said it was the egg.

Melody, Mallory and Lyric were already getting skeptical of Barrett and Drew. They were starting to figure out that Drew and Barrett are playing both sides. Rome, on the other hand, doesn’t buy it. He told them Drew is loyal and to stick with Drew.

The last big piece of the nom ceremony was Rome going off on Haley. I guess after the noms, Haley made some kind of comment. Rome said he was sick of her bitchy snarky comments or something like that. I don’t know what she said afterwards but apparently, Rome stood up and when he did, it either pushed his chair or he knocked it over. It sounds like it appeared to some of the others that he was taking a bit of an aggressive stance. This caused Barrett, Kamu and Chuk (I think?) to sort of get in front of Haley. I think there was some yelling back and forth and apparently Haley told Rome he had small balls.

I was so annoyed when the feeds were down for 2 hours for the nomination ceremony. I assumed we’d missed everything. Apparently we didn’t because Devens hadn’t even said the nomination ceremony was over when we got the feeds back. I hope we get to see a lot more of the drama on the Sunday episode.
As for the fall out, lets go player by player:
Devens
Devin said he was going to bring the drama and boy, he sure did. He made it clear during his nomination speech that he liked everyone, said it wasn’t personal and said he was only calling out people’s games. Devens is having a good time and isn’t bothered by the chaos. Was this the smartest game move? No. Am I glad he did it though? Absolutely. It was sort of successful because people like Lala, Taylor and Melody are questioning Jason and Rome now.

It didn’t do anything to take the target off Devens’ back but I also don’t think he really cares all that much I don’t think keeping Mallory off the block will cause her to flip sides. However, I do think keeping Taylor and Yash off will have improved his relationships with them.
Dee tell Devens “this was the best day of my life” and “it was better than winning Survivor.” They laughed about Angela going off in an egg costume. Devens said “it’s because we egged her on.” Dee said they didn’t and he said he’s knows that and just wanted to make another egg pun. Dee thinks the targets have lowered on themselves and Angela since everyone else is upset with each other.

She’s half right because her target has definitely lowered. (Mallory is still after her tho) I think the targets on Devens and Angela are still pretty big.
Angela
Angela was already in a little trouble even before the ceremony. After Drew told Rome that the nominations were mostly Angela’s idea, he was going off about her. He said things like he knows why she was bullied on her last season and said he planned to make her cry. He also called her crazy lips and said he was going to finish what Matt couldn’t on his season with her. Drew caused alot of this and all without knowing Angela doesn’t trust him. (Karma?) Angela made the rounds and apologized for making a scene. She let them know it wasn’t in her nature to behave like that but couldn’t help it because she was so hurt. (Don’t know about you but I think this is absolutely in Angela’s nature)

She talked to Jason a 2nd time. There was still an audience but it was a smaller one this time. They both apologized to each other again and said everything was fine now. (It isn’t) She talked to Lala and said she didn’t mean to upset her. (I actually do think this is true) She also told Dee and Devens she didn’t mean to take over his time during the ceremony but neither Dee nor Devens seemed to mind. (Those two are having a blast)
Rome
His game got blown up but it may not be that bad. Lala and Taylor may be the biggest hit he takes if he loses them. He still has Jason and Lyric and maybe Melody and Mallory. They both said they’d evict Jason over Rome. There’s also a chance Rome is able to convince Lala what he did wasn’t that bad. Let’s just say, I’m not convinced this side of the house has completely imploded. They don’t like the other side and people like Melody and Mallory may rather stick with the devil they know.

Rome told everyone it was a good game move on Devens part and said it was out of character for him to get so angry at Haley. (I’m not convinced at this one either. Now, I don’t think he was going to attack Haley like some of the crazies on the internet are saying but he just strike me as a guy who has to work at not being angry) I can’t put my finger on it but it feels like there’s something very fake about Rome. Maybe I’m wrong but either way, he says the right things to everyone. He said he felt flattered that Devens was basically telling everyone he was playing the best game and respected the move. He also assumes he is going on the block if anyone come off.

He laid in bed for a long time after the ceremony. Lyric came in and fed him his slop. Later, Jason joined and talked to the two of them while they were trying to make out.

Rome went around apologizing to people. He explained how he was forced to narrow down his list of people he wanted to keep safe and told everyone how much he loved them and so on. He cried a lot to Lala and she didn’t seem to be buying it but who knows, time may soften her up. For now, Taylor definitely isn’t buying it.

Jason
He wasn’t just put on the spot over Angela. Devens told everyone about Jason saying he could lie to and control some of the girls. This is what put Melody and Mallory off because they don’t care about what he said to Angela.

I thought he might be the backup target this week if they couldn’t get Rome but that plan might be changing. Devens talked to both Barrett and Kamu about not evicting Jason since he’s on the outs with people anyway. His antics could be what saves him this week.
Lyric
At first she didn’t seem too upset by her nomination and acknowledged it was part of the game. Later, she was annoyed with Devens on Romes behalf.

She talked to Kamu and said she couldn’t let a showmance ruin her game. (Not buying it and curious to see if anyone else will) She is also happy that she and Rome have gotten to the “I love you” part of the romance.
Melody
Melody saw her nomination coming but she was still pissed over it. She briefly worried about Drews loyalty but seems to trust him again. If she doesn’t, she’s doing a really good job of faking it. Drew talked to her about maybe needing to jump ship and work with the other side or at least keep their options open. She talked like she was open to it and she does strike me as someone who’s going to do whatever she needs to for her game. However, she can’t stand Haley, Angela or Devens so I just don’t see her working with them.

She had a talk with Devens and he filled her in on things Rome had said about her, mostly about not having any loyalty towards her. She did her part to try and convince Devens she would be open to doing something different but again, I’m not buying it.
If they can’t take out Rome this week, I actually think Melody is a better target than Jason. Except for the thing with Drew, I don’t think she’s going to be as easily tricked. She’s also a very self-interested player and proved it when she ditched Mallory last week.
Mallory
Mallory doesn’t trust Barrett or Drew anymore but she’s the most upset about Barrett. They’ve been spending more time together and were getting closer so I think she’s more hurt by the idea of Barrett working both sides.

She’s also still targeting Dee and I think Barrett spending a lot more time with Dee and cuddling with her may be making it worse. I think Mallory was definitely feeling like Barrett might be her person so I don’t think her reason for targeting Dee is solely based on the fact that she put her on the block.
Haley
She is somehow still taking a lot of the heat for the decisions being made. Romes side of the house already doesn’t like her so I guess it’s easy to pawn things off on her.

Actually, I think only Kamu and Chuk like her. The rest of the tool shed alliance is faking It. I think she could find herself on the block pretty soon even if it’s with Angela and Devens instead of Kamu and Chuk. Yesterday, we got another “girls don’t like me because I connect with the guys” talk from her.
Drew
Drew was living his best life yesterday. He loved watching Devens call out Rome. He loved watching Angela go off in an egg costume. He also put in enough work to have Rome telling his side of the house that they should still trust Drew. Obviously the game could go a different direction but I have this feeling Drew and Melody could somehow end up being the demise of the vets when its time. (assuming she doesn’t leave next week)

I think it’s ironic that the side of the house Drew isn’t loyal to trusts him but the side he’s actually loyal to doesn’t trust him as much.
As for everyone else:
Lala is still hurt but accepted Romes apology.
Taylor is over all these people already. Yash is happy to be safe this week. He was greatful to Devens and Kamu told him he was in more danger last week than he knew. Kamu was too subtle trying to convince Yash that he couldn’t trust Rome so I don’t know if Yash caught on or not.

I also don’t know why Kamu isn’t wanting to go after Rome this week but when he spoke to Devens, he talked like they would either take out Jason or Lyric. Chuk still isn’t doing much at all.

Barrett was quiet and mostly stayed out of things yesterday. He did tell Devens he’d like to backdoor Rome if possible.

I’m sure I missed a lot on this one but I didn’t have any notes from the day since I didn’t know I would be doing a recap.
Have a great Saturday!
Mel
