Big Brother 28-Sunday Recap for 7/19/26

Good morning BB Junkies, Things kept flipping back and forth all weekend and Devens has finally settled on a plan for his veto. He knew from the beginning he was using it and the only debate has been on who he would take off the block. Melody, Lyric and Jason have all talked to him and offered up what they could to sway him.

Jason offered to work for him and be his “minion.” Melody leaned in to not having anyone since she doesn’t trust both Jason or Rome anymore. Lyric said she had to play her own game and was done with Rome. (There was also some baby talk when she spoke with Devens) None of these conversations mattered because they were all lying.

Melody may be the most likely to work with him but only if she doesn’t have a choice and only for so long. I could see her pretending to work with Devens and his group until she can get some power in the house. She’s a selfish player and has already shown she’ll look out for herself over anyone else. (I mean that as a compliment)

She’s getting closer to Drew but I don’t think she fully trusts him. He’s giving her reasons not to so even with as much time as they’re spending together, she seems guarded, especially when it comes to who she would target. She’s saying the right things to Drew and the vets but Angela and Dee simply don’t trust it.

Angela also just doesn’t like Melody. That’s fine because Melody definitely doesn’t like Angela either. With Dee, it’s a bit different. It’s not that she doesn’t like Melody, it’s that she’s bonded with Lyric more. Dee told Lyric she would do everything she could to try to get the veto used on her so it does help Dees game if Lyric is the one who comes off the block. She hasn’t said it but I think Dee is thinking, if they take out Rome, she might be able to pick up Lyric.

Drew and Kamu want the veto used on Melody and thats why there’s been so much back and forth. It’s not about who to target because basically Rome will go otb and if he doesn’t win the Blockbuster, he’ll be evicted. If he does win the blockbuster, they plan to evict Jason. For Devens, its about what he can get from the person he uses the veto on.

In my opinion, what he’s going to get is absolutely nothing from any of them. At first, he was going to use it on Lyric. She somehow actually convinced Devens, Dee and Angela that she had broken it off with Rome. (I was shocked they bought into this at all) After Drew told them Rome said it was planned, they began to slowly switch gears.

The Crossovers met up and Devens said he’d decided to take Melody off the block. Dee didn’t look happy about it but said ok. (She was just waiting for another round of talks, I’m guessing)

After Rome talked to Devens yesterday, he started thinking about changing it back to Lyric. Like I mentioned, it’s not a matter of Lyric or Melody going home because everyone’s saying they’re both safe anyway. It’s more about trying to gain favor with who he takes down.

Two men sitting at a table during a Big Brother house conversation, one wearing a red shirt and sunglasses.

Rome said he would work with and be ok with Devens if he didn’t use the veto at all. He said would be ok with him if he took Lyric down and put up Rome. He also said he would be loyal to Devens if he took Lyric down and didn’t use Rome as the replacement nom.

At this point, what WAS the point of doing all of this, only to make a deal? Yes, I get that Rome may win the Blockbuster but come on, he isn’t going to be loyal to Devens if he stays in the house. Rome also told Devens he’s in love with Lyric so this should’ve proved Lyric can lie. She’s the one that had them all convinced she wasn’t with Rome anymore. Admitting this was also dumb on Rome’s part because Lyric spent the entire weekend running around, throwing Rome under the bus and flirting with everyone in the house. He basically made all of it pointless.

After alot more back and forth and Drew giving his ok to leave Melody otb, Devens met with Dee and Angela. He said they were his actual people and if they wanted Lyric to be the one that came down, that’s what he would do. They both told him to do what was best for his game but both agreed taking Lyric down may be for the best.

I don’t see it flipping back again today before the veto ceremony so my guess is, Lyric is having the veto used on her. This could blow up in Devens face if Rome wins the Blockbuster and it’s Jason and Melody otb on Thursday. I’m not saying it’s going to happen and I’m not even saying it’s been talked about yet, but I could see a scenario where Angela and Dee put in enough work to get the numbers to take Melody out over Jason.

Two houseguests having an intense conversation in the Big Brother house during a confrontation.

If the wheels start turning, they could do it because it would weaken Drews game and they still don’t trust Drew. (Just something to watch out for this week)

As for other things that happened….

Jason made an apology tour over they way he acted at the nom ceremony. It was mostly to Devens, Angela and Haley.

Devens said it was no big deal and we already know he made up with Angela. Haley made him work for it and tried to guilt him for talking shit about her. She told Jason she knew he was still doing it and if he was really sorry, he should stop. (He won’t stop and nothing has really changed for any of them)

Jason talked to Rome about how Angela was back in high school and jealous of the hot girls. Remember, he said similar things about Devens recently. He said Devens was a dollar store Adam Sandler which I have to admit, I did find a little funny. I have a feeling Jason had a bad experience in high school and has been doing a lot of projecting.

A lot of the new players are pissed off that vets are on their season but Mallory and Jason are the most vocal about it. Mallory takes the logical approach by pointing out how they were the only ones who could win the HOH and because they’re more well-known, they’re more likely to win the vote for an advantage in the upcoming weeks.

I can’t say she’s wrong but I also don’t think its something worth obsessing over. This is the game they were given and this is the game they have to play. BB has a long history of twists and especially bringing back past players. It’s something you should plan for instead of whining about. Fake that you’re with them until you can take them out.

Jason’s approach to it is more emotional. To a certain extent, I can see what Jason is feeling. Technically, he should have been brought back as the fourth vet of reality tv. He’s done two seasons of Drag Race and one of them was all stars. That should be an issue with production though, not the returning players. It was his choice not to tell the vets who he really was and team up with them. He’s too worried about Devens making a joke that he wanted to make himself.

For example, the way he cried over not getting America’s vote was ridiculous. Just because Angela won it, (I still don’t know how that happened with so many casual viewers despising her but whatever) doesn’t mean America hates him. He doesn’t know how many votes he received. Hell, he could’ve came in 2nd place for all he knows.

Jason won safety the first week and almost beat Devens for the veto. Apparently, Jason finished first but took a second to look over at everyone else’s progress and in that moment, Devens hit his buzzer. This has alot to do with why Jason is the backup target this week.

I already mentioned Lyric flirting with Kamu and Chuk this weekend. She’s told them and anyone that would listen she can’t be with Rome and said “he’s the reason I’m on the block.” I can give her credit for getting in the game and actually convincing people she wasn’t going to be with Rome anymore, even if it was temporary. However, I can’t get behind this bullshit.

I took the screenshots myself of Lyric climbing those bunk bed steps to get into Romes bed all ladt week. This isn’t something Rome did to her. This is something she did, all while saying it was dangerous to get into a showmance.

It’s not like we need more proof Lyric did this to herself, yesterday she announced to several people that she wished they were all playing Love Island.

As far as the fake break up lie, Rome encouraged her to do it but she did it too well. She spent all weekend throwing that man under the bus and it was starting to work. If it weren’t for Drew saying it was fake, they may all actually still believe it. This is why it’s confusing to me that the vets still think Lyric isn’t playing the game or isn’t a threat.

Lala and Angela complained about the guys leaving toothpaste in the sink, peeing in the floor, etc. They’re annoyed everyone won’t clean up after themselves. (That would drive me nuts and it’s why I could never go on BB) To fuel Lala’s annoyance with some of the guys, Angela and Dee have decided to pull some pranks. I don’t know if anyone else will think it’s funny but they were definitely cracking themselves up.

Dee said after Lala complained about someone leaving a towel behind the toilet, she puts one there every day now. They were also going to spit toothpaste in the sink and spread it around. There were a few more ideas but you get the gist. (I think the egg is cracking and Dee is right there with her) I have to admit that I’ve been enjoying the two of them together.

I think Dee knows who she’s dealing with and simply doesn’t mind. At one point, Angela said something about Drew planning a new alliance. Dee asked her if it was a real one or one in her head. Haha

Even though I’m rooting for them for now, I also think they’re having too much fun and getting too comfortable. I think maybe the other side needs to win HOH on Thursday and knock them down a peg or two.

Barrett put in some time with Mallory but its still shaky. Mallory has said she doesn’t trust Barrett and Drew anymore (after that late night HOH meeting on Thursday) but she does keep giving Barrett information which is weird. I think it’s a situation where Mallory felt close to Barrett and she doesn’t want it to be true, even if deep down she thinks it’s true. (Sorry, I screwed up this image and shocker, don’t know how to fit it!)

Barrett told Dee any remaining trust Mallory has with him will be gone when he votes out Rome. I’m sure that’s true but Barrett dropped the ball with Mallory last week. He wanted to spend a lot of time with Dee which he did, but he should have been spending it with Mallory. She was supposed to be his side person the way Drew was picking up Melody.

Two Big Brother houseguests laughing together outdoors, one wearing glasses and a beige sweater, the other in a cap.

Lala said she wants to target Haley and those two do NOT like each other. They make little snide comments to each other and that’s about the only conversation they share. I thought this was just a Haley issue but several people in the house have started saying they don’t care for Lala. I admittedly don’t pay that much attention to the kitchen and the cooking. It’s annoying trying to hear the feeds when there is a group in the kitchen and they’re cooking. There also isn’t likely to be game talk happening when thats going on so I don’t tend to follow it as much.

All that was to say, I don’t know if people just don’t like Lala and are looking for an excuse or if they’re complaints are legit. Basically, the recurring complaint is that Lala tries to control the kitchen. Other people feel like they can’t freely go in there and cook. I’ve heard Haley, Chuk and Devens talk about it so far.

Lala and Haley also had a disagreement this weekend when Lala was trying to sleep. Haley and other people were in the bedroom talking to Angela. They were chatting in there because Angela doesn’t have to wear her costume when she’s in bed. Lala said that part was fine but said they didn’t have to be so loud.

I think Angela finally got permission to take her costume off after 10:00 p.m. She broke down crying for a bit in the storage room because it was so uncomfortable. It’s not just that it’s very hot, there’s also straps inside of it that are really hurting her shoulders. I know Angela is dramatic but I actually think this complaint is legit. That much weight pulling down on your shoulders has to be miserable.

Melody may not come off the block but she’s impressed me anyway. She’s working with Drew while still remaining a little skeptical about him. She’s talked to a lot of people, lied and told them whatever she needed to say. I enjoyed watching her in the workout room pumping herself up for the veto comp. I don’t fault her for not being able to see through Drew entirely.

Yes, he was in the Thursday night meeting but he made it sound like they pulled him up there and he didn’t have much of a choice except to agree with them. He’s also doing a pretty good job of playing Melody up to this point.

Two Big Brother houseguests sit together against a red brick wall during a casual moment in the house.

We often see people pick up a side person and work them to their advantage. What sometimes happens is, they accidentally become close for real. I’ve already mentioned how I could see Drew and Melody playing a part in taking down the Vets down the road. I also think this is what Dee and Angela are worried about with Drew.

Senior houseguest in blue shirt and white cardigan stands near round table while talking to other players in living area.

Angela did finally acknowledge they were the ones who sent Drew out to work the other side. It didn’t help much though because the vets are still annoyed with him for doing it. We see this happen a lot too. You have one of your alliance members work both sides, they do too good of a job and then the rest of the alliance is jealous that they’re probably going to be safe when that other side gets power. It’s not logical but it’s definitely common.

Two houseguests interact in the bedroom; one sits on the bed while the other stands holding a yellow pillow.

Angela, Dee and Devens started asking the fans for another power vote to go their way. Dee understands the process because she asked that people keep making those fake email accounts so they could keep voting. Haha (I think they have enough power) I could actually see Rome getting the next power after the sympathy edit he got on last night’s episode. If he gets the power and gets evicted, the advantage will come a day too late if they stick with announcing it on Fridays.

I’m definitely all over the place so far this season with who I like but hey, it’s only week two. I actually really like most of this cast. I don’t like returning players coming back into the game but I AM enjoying all three of the Vets so far. Personally, I’m not ready for any of them to leave yet but I also don’t want a steamroll season. I’m actually not worried about that though because like I said, it’s only the second week. I’ll worry about that if and when it becomes an issue but right now it’s not. I’m just enjoying the chaos.

Drew and Kamu are getting closer than I think anyone knows. This could also be a danger area for the vets, especially if it gets back to Drew they don’t trust him. Apparently, there was a recent conversation on the feeds between Drew and Kamu. First, I wasn’t going to mention it because I didn’t see it myself but instead wanted to ask if anyone saw it and could confirm it. I’ll preface this by saying I have no idea if it’s actually happened but I’d like to know if it did.

Four shirtless male houseguests relax on couches in the Big Brother house living room area.

I was told that shortly before the Thursday night meeting when the Crossovers and the Red Corner came together to form the tool shed alliance, Drew and Kamu had a chat. While they were talking, Drew may have told Kamu he wanted an alliance called the tool shed. He also may have told Kamu that the two of them could be the handymen and basically, it was a final 2. If this is true, it definitely adds new context to this group so please let me know if anyone happened to see this conversation.

I barely even saw Taylor on the feeds this weekend. Once she found out she was safe, I think she decided to lay low and stay out of the mess.

Yash was safe too and he hasn’t done much either. Sure, he has lots of conversations but they’re mostly with Kamu and Rome.

Man with beard wearing dark tank top and gold chain necklace, sitting outdoors with green grass background.

He was in a group conversation with the guys discussing women. He has a lot of rules about how women dress and how muscular they should be. Let’s just say, Yash won’t be working with any of the women. It’s a bummer for him that he ended up on a rare season where there isn’t a big bro alliance, at least not yet. That’s definitely what he wants to happen though.

Group of houseguests sitting and laughing together on the floor during a Big Brother competition or social event.

Devens hasn’t done near enough with Yash, Taylor and Mallory this week. (Don’t think it would help with Mallory) I think it’s great he kept week 1’s nominees off the block this week but he hasn’t gone beyond that to get any payoff from it.

Big Brother houseguests relaxing on outdoor patio furniture in backyard lounge area during daytime.

I think a lot of this cast has potential. Sure, most of them are sloppy but they haven’t figured out what they’re doing yet. It could really help the new players that the vets are playing pretty sloppy too at the moment.

We were left with a cliffhanger at the end of last nights episode but I wasn’t really surprised. There was too much going on to fit that into the one hour episode.

Person wearing glasses peering through a circular opening in a white fabric structure inside a Big Brother house.

Hopefully, that means the Wednesday episode won’t have half of it taken up with the veto comp. I’m anxious to see what parts they show that had already happened before the feeds came back on. Before the season started, did anyone think we would be saying Rick Devens from Survivor and BB 26 Angela (while dressed in an egg costume) would be fighting with Selena Estitties from Drag Race? Damn, I love this show!

The veto ceremony will be happening sometime today and I anticipate Lyric being taken off the block with Rome going up in her place. Have a great Monday.
